Cinderpaw watched with sorrowful eyes as her fellow apprentices trained and practiced their fighting skills, they leaped at one another. She longed to join them, to feel the the wind as she chased after a mouse, to feel the accomplishment of a successful battle. But all she could do was watch, her unstable posture a constant reminder of her injured leg. Yellowfang, grumpy old medicine cat, had noticed Cinderpaws mood and decided to talk to her. She may not be the best at comforting, but she was determined to try. "Cinderpaw, come here" Yellowfang grunted, motioning for her to sit beside her in her den as she strightend out her stiff limbs. Cinderpaw obliged, her ears drooping. "What is it, Yellowfang?" she asked. "Your leg," Yellowfang replied, nodding towards the injured limb. "I know it must be hard, not being able to become a warrior like you've always wanted" the medicine cat continued. Cinderpaw felt her heart sink even lower. She had always admired Yellowfang and looked up to her, but she couldn't help but feel like the old cat didn't understand what she was going through. After all, Yellowfang had never wanted to be a warrior. "I just feel so useless" Cinderpaw whispered, her blue eyes cloudy. "I can't even do basic tasks without struggling. How will I ever be a warrior like this?" She sighed. Yellowfangs expression softened, and she licked Cinderpaws ear gently, "Cinderpaw, being a warrior is not just about fighting. It's about having a strong heart, a fierce spirit, and the determination to never give up. And you have all of that, even with your leg. That makes you a true warrior in my eyes" the older cat spoke. For the first time since her injury, Cinderpaw felt a spark of hope in her heart. She may never become a warrior, but her destiny has other plans.......
