You ran in the rain panting. Your older sister stayed behind and made you run while she fought the wild Onix that attacked you.
You resisted the urge to run back for her, to save her. But her words echoed in your head,
"Run and never look back."
You were obedient and kept running. You knew you couldn't save her even if you tried.
She was a 12 girl with a Pokemon having a much greater chance of surviving than you, a 4 year old girl with no Pokemon.
Even so, how could her tiny Tadbulb defeat a giant Onix? You couldn't tell if it was rain, sweat, or tears streaming down your face, but you kept running anyway.
So how did you get here? Here's a quick flashback:
Your sister took you to the Kanto region to find Pokemon eggs for her vlog.
You had a great time looking at the Pokemon and running around together.
After many hours, you finally found a Pokemon egg. You realized it was dark. Your sister decided to go to the hotel she booked, only to find that you both were lost.
You wandered around the forest. You carried the egg in your backpack and held your sister's hand tightly.
After a while, you decided to sleep at the bottom of a cliff. You were just about to set down the egg when the ground started shaking.
Your sister stood up and you ran to her. You clutched her arm tightly.
An Onix rose out of the ground. You screamed.
Your sister told you to run with the egg and never turn back.
Flashback over.
You were still running, hoping to get to a town of somesort.
Suddenly, a giant yellow bird appeared in front of you.
You froze and suddenly felt calmer.
It landed and motioned to the egg.
"Do you want me to set this down?" You asked it.
It squawked a yes.
You set it down, but held it protectively. You wouldn't let your sister's hard work go to waste.
The bird flew into the air and motioned for you to move.
You held it tigher.
It squawked loudly to make you move.
Electricity generated around its body. It wasn't actually going to strike, it was just trying to threaten you.
Suddenly, another big bird with firey feathers accidentally ran into the yellow bird and the yellow bird striked you and the egg due to its shock.
Screamed as the lightening hit you.
The egg suddenly cracked and out came a Shinx.
You gasped, the egg hatched.
You fainted since you were so tired.

(The next day)
You woke up in a Pokemon Center bed.
You saw a Chansey pass by and it noticed you woke up.
It ran away and came back with a Nurse Joy.
"How was your rest, dear?" Nurse Joy asked you.
"I- what am I doing here?" You asked.
"A young man brought you here. His name is Friede." She replied.
"Friede?" You asked.
"Oh, I can bring him over here." Nurse Joy said as she walked away.
A tall young man with tan skin, white-gray hair, and yellow eyes.
"Thank you for saving me, sir. Although, I don't know why I'm here." You said to him.
"You're welcome. You were knocked unconscious in the rain. Don't worry, your Pokemon is being healed as well." He replied.
"My...Pokemon?" You asked.
"Yes, that Shinx was yours, wasn't it?" He said.
You thought hard, trying to regain your memory.
Suddenly, Nurse Joy came in with Chansey. It was holding in Shinx.
"She has amnesia, which is memory loss. It seems permanent. It's so strong that Chansey can't fix it." Nurse Joy explained.
She picked up the Shinx and set it in your lap. It looked up at you curiously.
On its tail was a note that read, 𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓷𝔁 𝓫𝓮𝓵𝓸𝓷𝓰𝓼 𝓽𝓸 𝓨/𝓝
(Mewtwo came when you were knocked out and wrote the note. I'm telling you bc you'll never actually find out.)
"Are you Y/N?" Friede asked.
"Yes. If there's one thing I remember, it's my name." You replied.
"Have you actually caught this Pokemon?" He asked.
"No." You said.
He tossed you a Pokeball.
"Then do it." He said.
You hesitantly dropped the Pokeball on its head. It didn't move or object. It was caught that smoothly.
"Shinx, come back out." You said. It came back out and climbed on your head. You giggled.
Friede smiled and asked, "Are you traveling all alone?"
You paused. You didn't know what to say.
"I-I don't remember?" You admitted.
It was quiet for a while. Friede was in deep thought.
"I was wondering...when you come out...who will you travel with?" He asked.
"I was thinking you since you're the guy here." You replied.
Friede laughed and said, "That sounds like a good idea. How old are you, kid?"
"I'm 4. How old are you, sir?" You asked back.
"19." He replied.
Nurse Joy gave you time to rest.

Now you're out of the Pokemon Center.
You were walking with Friede. He got you some icecream and some Pokemon supplies.
"These are necessary for your journey. Pokeballs, revives, potions, and a Pokedex. Lures, repels, advanced Pokeballs, heals, advanced potions, held items, and some other stuff aren't necessarily NEEDED, but they're handy." He explained.
"Thanks!" You said as you put them in your backpack.
Shinx walked beside you, Nurse Joy told you it was a male.
At the end of the day, you and Friede walked through the town as you watched the sunset.
You had a lot of fun, and Friede did too.
"How do you feel about having a brother?" He asked.
"Depends on who he is." You say.
"Alright. How do you feel about me adopting you as my little sister?" He asked.
Your eyes lit up.
"I'd LOVE that!" You exclaimed as you jumped up and down.
