Yellow Fragments

I open my eyes. Bright blue sky in sight. Oh, actually not, -a little cloud here. I turn my head to the right, there's Jason. He's sleeping still. There is no better way to wake up than witnessing your best friend. I take a little time to admire him. His face, usually so passionated, now the pure serenity made human. His longs hairs falling like a waterfall on the sand, creating a beautiful gradient, from a warm copper brown into a mat gold, fading into the pale yellow of the sand.

If this one could talk, there would be lots to say. It travels across the seas and oceans non-stop, taking sometimes a little rest on the coasts it finds on its way.

It saw the first death of the oceans. It's the timeless graveyard of the Marine population.

It contains stories by thousands.

The only thing that managed to invade massively the lands and the seas.

Covering the bottom of the abysses, forming a crumpled sheet of gold on the desert lands.

It rides the flows coming from the ethers or the depths to visit its domain, leaving an orange mark behind.

Gaining ground slowly but surely, carrying all the history of the Earth's life, trying to bring it to an end.

Infiltrating everywhere. One day, it will assault the whole world, before us humans, even realize it.

- Darn, Got sand in my eyes. groans Jason, waken up by a volley of that tiny yellow dust brought by a facetious breath of wind.

Hey, told you.

N/A : Got a bit eco-friendly with that one. It was a bit short, but that's all that came up to my mind, and it was too long not to use. Jason is a reference (guess it !), but nothing to do with the story.
