After the special presentation ended, the school janitor helped Timothy and Electchu get down and freed them from their bindings with his Heracross. Timothy was excused from fourth period so he and Electchu could wash at the gym's shower while his clothes were washed. The janitor gave him spare sweatpants, tennis shoes, a white shirt, and a school hoodie to wear until his clothes were clean.

After getting dressed, Timothy and Electchu began heading to fourth period when they found Oleana standing at the gym entrance. Timothy looked around to check if there was anybody around him that Oleana could be waiting for till she cleared her throat to grab his attention.

"You and your Pokemon have been summoned to Principal Sordward and Vice Principal Shielbert's office," Oleana said.

"Uh, okay. Why do you gotta say it like that?" Timothy asked.

"Don't ask," Oleanna said bluntly. "Now, please, follow me."

Timothy and Electchu looked at each other before they hesitantly complied. Oleana led them to a staircase to the third floor and down the hall to a tall wooden door with a golden door frame. Timothy looked at Oleana befuddled as if to silently ask, "Am I seeing what I'm seeing" to which she gestured to him to enter with a wave of her hand. Timothy shrugged before he and Electchu went in.

They took a few steps in before they stopped with their eyes wide, and Electchu's ears perked up. The office was two stories high, with the roof and walls in gold paint, and the floor was marble. Sordward and Shielbert's office was split into two sections, with Sordward's section on the right and Shielbert's on the left. Each side had a tall, stained-glass window of the respective brother behind their desks. Shielbert's window was an image of him in red armor holding a large red and gold shield, and Sordward's was an image of him in blue armor wielding a blue and gold two-handed long sword.

At the center were two couches, one for each of the brothers, and a coffee table at the center with a golden chess set. Above it was a chandelier the height of a full-grown person with thin crystals hanging on it. Hanging beside the chandelier were four tapestries revolving around two men, one in red, one in blue, becoming kings. At the far end of the room was the studio, where Sordward and Shielbert made their announcement. There, Sordward and Shielbert sat at a dressing table, looking at themselves in a wide mirror and spraying large cans of hairspray on their hair. They smirked at their respective reflections as they sprayed as though they were looking at female versions of themselves.

"Good grief, Electchu. Is this place supposed to be an office or part of a mansion?" Timothy asked.

"Pi...ka...chu," Electchu said, unsure.

Overhearing Timothy and Electchu, Sordward and Shielbert saw them through the mirror, and their smirks vanished into bitter scowls. They put their hairspray away and walked over to Timothy and Electchu with their heads held high and hands behind their backs. Timothy and Electchu grew uneasy as the principal and vice principal circled around them like vultures ready to dine on corpses.

"Tell us, boy, what is your name?" Sordward asked.

"Uh, Timothy Durbin, sir," Timothy replied.

"Ugh, how tacky," Shielbert muttered before speaking up. "And what do you know about the legend, Darkest Day?"

"Not much. Just that a man with a magic sword and shield saved Galar from being destroyed by rampaging Dynamax Pokemon," Timothy said.

"Wrong. It was two men, one with a sword and one with a shield," Sordward said. "Furthermore, you left out the most important part. After saving Galar, those noble men became kings."

"And why is that the important part?" Timothy asked.

"Because Galar rightfully acknowledged their greatness and immortalized them," Shielbert said. "They are magnificent figures of the region's ancient history. No one can know Galar's history without first knowing who made the region what it is today. And it's because of that the line of those mighty kings continues. Unfortunately, while their memory lives on, their descendants are robbed of the recognition they deserve. Well endowed but reduced to serve the peasantry by leading the education of their offspring. Termites with their pimples, braces, rickets, and lice."
