The following day was filled with excitement. Their mission ‘Hunt Partha’ had begun.

Devaki, Vasudeva and Rohini were not participating as they had said and were in there chambers with Abhimanyu, much to their delight. Today, they will left alone without anyone disturbing their privacy by knocking after every hour.

Though he called it childish, Balarama kept an eye on the court. He searched everyone from head to toe with his eyes and made sure that they weren’t the one the Yadavas had been searching. He denied, but he was a bit interested.

Revati, on the other hand, kept the kitchens clean. She made sure that Arjuna wouldn’t even lurk in any corner of her kitchen and if he did, then he would be caught.

Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda and Lakshana divided the palace amongst themselves and begun their search. They checked every chamber through and through to make sure Arjuna wasn’t there. The entire palace was thoroughly checked twice and all those who entered it were also checked upon.

Rukmini, Nagnajiti and Bhadra visited all the temples in Dwaraka. As Arjuna had entered Dwaraka through Somnatha, he might also do that again. The temples, the devotees and the sages too were looked at, though in a very decent manner.

Krishna, Subhadra and Satyabhama searched the beaches to make sure that Arjuna wasn’t in the guise of some trader who had just arrived via the sea routes. They closely looked at every fisherman and boatman who had seen anyone resembling Arjuna enter.

The children scanned the city. Every street, every lane, every part, every fragment, every garden, every gate was searched by them in their quest to find Partha. Where would he be? In a more secluded place in an un-obvious disguise.

Nishatha looked at anyone who passed him with a suspicious look as though he was a terrorist. Bhanu eyes every man in the age group Arjuna belonged to with his dusky skin closely. Samba tried to pull the beard of a man, mistaking him for his uncle. Charumati pulled her brother away and gave her diamond ring as a token of apology.

Satyaki and Kritaverma were also included in this mission. They both went through all the people who had arrived the day before and met them personally.

In brief, they weren’t searching, but were making heaven and hell one to find their beloved son-in-law!

Morning twirled into afternoon and still there was no sign of Arjuna. Were they going to lose? Half-heartedly they all returned to the palace for lunch and again proceeded with their mission.

Summer had arrived, bringing scorching rays of the Sun along with it. Samba sat beneath a large Banayan tried that relieved him from heat and providing the Son of Keshava with a few moments of crisp. He was to fall asleep, embracing the mighty tree but then remembered what he was supposed to be doing. He got up to leave but something stopped him.
