Third person POV:

——————————————————————

"First we have, Chase moor on his beautiful mount Atlanta!" The announcer roared through the speakers, the time started going and so did the competitor, he let his palomino round each barrel quickly, as he rounded the final barrel and bolted down the home stretch the timer stopped.

"We have a great starting time to beat at 18.57 seconds!" He called again, sounding like he wasn't actually happy for the guy.
"And up for second, our own Eliana Watson on campus!" The man yelled, this time actually seemingly exited to see her time, the man was Carter Watson, her father.

The large strawberry roan was quick, the large gym sized arena made it quicker, the long blonde hair flowing quickly behind Eliana as she went down the home stretch within five seconds, the announcer not waiting a second before calling out her time "Eliana Watson at a fine 16.88 seconds!" He beamed.

Rider after rider, the time was deducted to 15.07 seconds, a difficult time to beat in this size arena. Rider number nine, Michelle landers, got 21.98 seconds with a five second penalty for the second barrel falling. Would've gotten 16.98 seconds otherwise. It was time for rider number 10, the lady pulled open the small gate Willow was in and shot her a small smile as she backed away.

"And next, rider number ten Texas' own Willow coy sanders on acorn!" Carter cheered on his daughter's best friend as the large chestnut bolted through the arena and around the first barrel, then the second.

The third one tipped, and Willow caught it just in time to push it back up and let her horse race for the timer, silence made everyone's ears ring until a loud, throughty neigh echoed through the stands, followed by each and every other horse following in suit, the announcer barely audible through the loud calls.

Willows POV:

——————————————————————

Acorn was restless, twisting and turning under me, hopping up and down gently as she held her head tight to her chest, Nickering at me. she was ready to run. The lady opened the gate to our stall and smiled at me "good luck you two" she said happily as she backed up, allowing us to move into the racers alley, lining up to go.

"And next, rider number ten Texas' own Willow coy sanders, on acorn!" Eliana's dad roared over the speakers, the crowd got louder as I let the reins loose. I felt the power in acorns long strides, the crowd roaring as we circled the first barrel tightly, then the second even better.

The third step of acorns hoof had hit the barrel and it started to tip, thankfully I reached down and quickly tilted it back to stand properly. We raced down the home stretch and came to a long sliding stop once back in the riders lane, once fully stopped and turned I saw the time "14.99 seconds.. we did it acorn!" I grinned, hugging her neck.

I almost fell off her as she lifted her long legs and kicked her hoofs out in a great rear, a loud, deep neigh filling the air all around, followed by every other horse here. We landed with a hard *thud* and acorn stood still, throwing her head around proudly. The neighs slowly died down and the announcers voice became audible.

"Sorry, I need to repeat myself" he paused to laugh, more deep laughs echoing alongside him. "That was an amazing run by Willow coy sanders, setting the new time to beat at 14.99 seconds! Her fastest recorded time!" He cheered, the whole crowd went nuts as a short, stubby looking man came up to me, maybe 5'5, hardly reaching acorns back for a height match.
