Monarch of the Gates/ Solo leveling

Gates

A/n Long break. Sort of lost motivation again with school and all, but i won't waist anymore time so onto the story!!!

Y/n's POV

As i dragged Kira away from the building I heard her whines behind me.

"Couldn't we have just stayed a little longer?!" She whines and pouts. Obviously no we couldn't stay any longer.

"No! We have places to go and unlike you I have a plan to actually complete this gate." I argue back and let go of her hand and walk in the direction of the gate. "And I can't believe you did that to me! You obviously only set that up as a date for you and him but you also made it so Jinwoo and I had to sit together!" I whine and throw my hands around to accentuate my point.

"It wasn't planned!" Liar. "I truly had no idea he'd bring Jinwoo. The date was a total set up, between him and I," she explained with not an ounce of shame in her voice.

"You- ugh! Whatever lets just go we're not that far out from the gate. It's literally only like half a mile away." I say with an exasperated sigh. After this entire interaction I was ready to kill Kira for one, setting up that entire thing and waiting time, and i hug her for setting up the entire thing and i got to see Jinwoo in all his glory.

After a few more minutes of walking the gate became clear. Unlike what I told Jinwoo that it was a small secret gate that was a lie. For all I know it could be a lower level but the actual gate was HUGE. Probably standing at around twenty feet tall and fifteen feet wide. "Holy shit... How did nobody find this?" I question with a short laugh before looking at Kira. "You ready?" I ask as i take careful steps towards the gate.

"Yeah..." she whispers and follows behind me. The two of walk into the gate unsure of what could be on the other side.

After the blinding light of the middle passage of the gate's entrance the usual dark crypt setting of the usual dungeon was replaced by the soft summer smell of the beach. The smell of the salt and seaweed brushed over our faces as the sun shined down on us.

"Wow..." i whisper and smile. I turn to Kira and see the same look of awe on her face. "Let's go before i want to start swimming." I joke and begin walking. Suddenly there's a giant crack of water, like a whip snapping, I turn around slowly and stare at the giant Kraken like creature staring back at the two of us. "What the fuck is that!?" I yelp and back up.

"Wait shouldn't you know what this thing is if you've read the story?!" Kira yelled as she panicked.

"That doesn't that every monster was shown!" I argue and place my hand on the ground, "Prove Thy Faith," I whisper and watch as the golden shadow rises out of the ground. "Elex..." i whisper and sigh.

"Holy fuck what is that?!" She screamed, it now dawning on me she's never seen Elex.

"Don't worry he's on our side." I say and pull my rapier from my inventory. "Play backup Kira." I say and watch her nod slightly before i hurry off towards the giant Kraken. I put my foot down and sigh, "Touch of the Gate's Warden" I whisper and feel myself slip through the floor and begin to fall through the air. I land on one of the many tentacles as i begin to try and weaken the monster as Elex shoots arrows from afar. I begin piercing the Kraken's body as I run along the tentacle. I look to Kira and wave before slipping back through a gate and landing on another tentacle barely dodging a swipe from another tentacle. I feel the monster shudder and see that Kira has began shooting offensive magic towards it.

I scan over the kraken and try to look for any potential weak spots. Seeing and different colored spot in the middle of its two eyes. "There" I whisper to myself and sprint towards the spot. "Elex!" I shout and point to the spot on its head. The armor nods and aims an arrow right at the spot. I feel the wind blow past me and i watch the arrow fly right and the spot. In just enough time i jump onto the large arrow and ride it to meet right at the spot. I hold my rapier out and pierce the spot in the direct center.

The Kraken begins to scream and flail its arms around as i pull my rapier from its sking.

"Is it dead?!" I hear Kira yell to me. I turn to her and shrug. " Don't Know!" I shout back and make a gate for myself and reappear sitting on Elex's head. "I really can't tell." I mutter and watch the monster. I watch as the monster begins to disappear and fall. I sigh and fall backwards too completely lay on Elex.

"Oh thank god!" Kira sighs and sit down. "I hope that's the last of it..." she mutters and I laugh.

"I doubt it. We haven't even seen the boss room yet." I say and make a gate to the ground. As i emerge from the gate i watch the water begin to recede and a passageway for in place of the Kraken. "See?" I say and grin as Kira groans, "That was just one of the higher ranked enemies. We still have a ways to go." I say before pulling Kira to her feet and walking towards the path way.

After what i could only assume was hours of fighting monsters that were much smaller we finally happened upon the boss room. "That's one huge door." I point out and laugh. I sit down and yawn. "We have food right?" I ask and look at Kira who was actively eating a protein bar. "give me one" i say and get thrown a bar.

"So do you have any idea of what could be behind this door? I mean you did read the entire novel, but i guess you didn't know what the Kraken thing was either..." She rants as i try to calm my aching bones. I look towards Elex who was still standing tall as if nothing had even happened.

"i wish i was a shadow soldier..." i mutter and sigh. Elex only looks around at my words, completely ignoring our existence. "Well you ready?" I ask Kira and watch her nod with basically no enthusiasm. "Try to be more upset." I say and laugh as i start walking towards the giant door. "Elex? Could you open the door for us?" I ask and he walks over. He begins to push open the doors and Kira and I hurry in through the doors. I look around and see nothing. The room was empty, not pristine by any means. There were bones and mounds of what i could only assume was sand but i couldn't find any monster.

"Where is it?" Kira asks and looks up and around. I watch her footing shake a little and I immediately realize. Ocean, underground, sand, Crab. I run to Kira and open a gate and move her out of the way of the giant claw that erupted from the earth. "Holy- oh my god!? What the fuck?!" She screams as i let go of her.

"Well there's our boss." I mutter and watch as the name raises our of the ground along with the massive crab. Iron Shelled Aegir. The system displays its name. "God now I want to eat crab..." i mutter and watch Kira look at me with a horrified look.

"Y/n?! what in the world we're about to get attacked by a crab and all you're thinking about is eating it?!" She screams and hurries to her feet. All i could do is shrug as i signal Elex to start firing.

"Well at least im not thinking about our inevitable deaths." I point out and sprint towards the crab. I begin trying to find a weak point on the crab. My rapier not doing much damage. I should really invest in multiple weapons, a claymore maybe?

I dodge one of the claws but get hit by another and go flying into a wall, just in time i make a gate and make myself land on the sand to soften the blow. "Fuck... that hurt."
