Beyond the ocean's surface and the sun's horizon, laid an elegant and stunning siren perched upon a robust rock. Her blonde strawberry hair flowed in the wind behind her, allowing the sun to engulf her face.

Her fin swayed gracefully beneath the water, waves collided against the rock. Splashes whipped her fair skin as she peered at the clouded sky. A storm is brewing. The siren curled her fingers with another splash and dipped them in the sultry ocean.

She pulled away while flicking the remaining drops of liquid off her hand. It must be coming from the north. A squawking screech nearly drove her off the monstrous rock. After analyzing her surroundings, she tossed her flowing locks away from her face to be met by a slim seagull.

"Oh! You little-"

"What a great day for sunbathing," a gruff voice hollered.

The man's ocean-blue eyes met her grey eyes. She proceeded to offer him a flirtatious smirk. She gracefully rotated her body, permitting herself to stretch out on her stomach comfortably.

"Senator Bay! What brings you here?"

"Well, as you know, a storm is coming and we must head undercover before the white caps begin to form."

The woman tilted her head and glanced at him inquisitively. She straightened her pose while Bay tilted his head slightly back, raising an eyebrow and conveying a disappointed glance. He clicked his tongue and then looked up at the looming clouds above.

"Oh, Harmony. You know laying on that rock and waiting for Prince Abijam won't make him return sooner."

Unfortunately, she thought. Her shoulders drooped as her posture slumped over. Subconsciously, Harmony found a vacant spot where Abijam would generally lay. Her heart pounded as she tried to shield her despair from Bay.

"Leave me. I wish to be alone."

Bay gave her a cunning smirk. "You know," he began. "We have the Mystical Pearl."

Harmony jerked up, her eyes sparkled, letting excitement puppeting her movements. She dove head-first into the sea before Bay could respond. He crossed his arms, exposing his burly form.

With one mighty leap, Bay's structure cut through the air before seamlessly merging alongside the water's surface. His sleek, iridescent tail curled alluringly as he plunged, creating a spellbinding imprint of bubbles.

Harmony slowed as she inspected Bay's struggle propelling his damaged fin. It's been centuries since she witnessed him displaying tricks and shows for young merchildren to memorize and practice.

"You should take it easy."

Bay exhaled and straightened his stance. "Easy for you to say. At the same time, the other senators are fulfilling their responsibility, while respectfully, you are perched upon that rock."

Harmony glanced sideways at Bay, staunchly resisting the urge to pound his authoritarian attitude out of him. She hastily gathered up her pace swimming toward the royal palace. Unlike, the other senators, Harmony developed a special bond with the prince.

Though she understood humans grew and expanded their constructive thinking and emotional intelligence, her species did not need to adopt or alter their intellectual abilities. Sirens were expected to usher men to their demise if they lingered too close to their territory.

Arieshell was the first to challenge and abandon her duties as the Siren Goddess. Although Harmony appeared flirtatious and seductive, she yearned for a reality where her kind could live similarly to humans- where she and Abijam could spend their days in unison.
