(Frozen Rito Village - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom)

Even with your Snowquill armor, the cold clung to you. You and Link realized it was too dangerous for your horses to continue, so you had left them at the Tabantha Bridge Stables, instead choosing to travel the rest of the way on foot. "Just a little farther, and we can glide the rest of the way down," Link grunted, as you helped pull him up onto the rocky ledge.

You scanned the horizon with the Purah Pad. "Looks like we should be on track. Good call on climbing instead of using the road. Should save us plenty of time." You put it back into its holster before rubbing your hands for warmth. "Can't wait until we're across Lake Totori though. The sooner we can get warm food and rest the better."

The two of you leaped into the air, letting the air currents carry you across to the edge of Rito Village. The blizzard had only grown stronger as you got closer, and now flurries of snow stuck to the two of you.

The normally sunny and green village was covered in several feet of snow. One bridge had already collapsed under the weight, and the remaining ones didn't look trustworthy. The fish ponds had frozen solid, and even Lake Totori was starting to ice up far below you. With the exception of the trees and monster encampments, the closer you got to the swirling storm, the more Hebra seemed to be turning into a snowy wasteland. Link used a fire fruit to light a torch, just to give the two of you a little more warmth.

As you waded through the snow to the entrance of Rito Village, you could hear some young voices singing.

Once, a god fell from heaven, stilling the Hebra winds.

The heavens grew lifeless, just as the air below thinned.

With the world in upheaval, we pledged to help the lord.

A line of ships soaring, built as a passage skyward.

The god ascended to heaven, leaving behind an ark.

Its winds brought us new life, thanks to its great, divine spark.

Despite the rather bleak sounding song, you clapped. The Rito children gasped, but then beamed upon seeing you approach. "Uncle [Y/n]!"

Before you could react, you were knocked into a snowdrift by one, two, three, four, five brightly colored Rito children. "You came, you came!"

"We were so worried!"

"We heard you disappeared!"

"Girls, it's okay, Link and I are gonna fix whatever is causing that storm." You said, wrapping your unofficial nieces in a huge hug. You often visited Kass's family, especially now that he was traveling. The girls basically adopted you. Speaking of Kass though, "Where is everyone? Did your father make it back safe?"

Their sad faces made you regret the question. Notts finally answered. "Daddy's supposed to be home by now."

You pivoted quickly. "I'm sure the storm has him delayed. In that case, don't worry, Link and I are here to figure out how to stop it so your Daddy can fly home. Where is everyone else?"

"The adults are out trying to scavenge for supplies," Genli said. "We're taking care of things here."

"But," Cree added, "Elder Teba, Saki, and Tulin are still here. I think they're up at Revali's Landing."

"We'd better check in with them then," Link said, helping you back up. "Don't worry girls, we'll figure it out," he added with a smile.

"No fair!" came a sixth voice. It was Molli, the bowyer Harth's daughter. She was quite a bit younger than the others. "I wanted a hug too."
