Ibrahim's POV🖤I didn't make any effort to dress up for the date since they said a man's wealth represents his appearance. Wearing my usual attire—a shiny white kaftan and black boots—I combed my hair and wore my signature perfume. When I was descending the stairs, I crossed paths with my mother, who expressed admiration by remarking, "Did I really give birth to such a handsome son?"
I rolled my eyes at her dramatic reaction and chuckled. "I'm going there."
"In sha Allah, everything will be fine," she said with a smile. "You'll like the girl."
I nodded, continuing to descend the stairs and make my way outside to the cars, where I gestured to the drivers to start the engines. As the cars roared to life, I took a deep breath to prepare myself for the night.
I've never met Khadija, so I kept wondering if she would even meet my expectations. This question swirled through my mind as I settled into the backseat and we drove into the chaotic and bustling streets of Abuja.
We arrived at the restaurant in Maitama soon after, where my mom had rented out the entire place for us for the night. I decided to sit outdoors due to the breathtaking view of the skyline of the city from the balcony. Shortly afterwards, Khadija appeared wearing a sparkling blue abaya with a wrapped veil around her head. I have to admit, she was beautiful—even more than I had imagined. While she approached, I took a moment to examine her, assessing her every move, from the way she walked to her modest attire. Overall, I would give her a nine out of ten because, although she is beautiful, I still think Amina is even more so. However, that certainly didn't make Khadja any less impressive. In fact, her beauty left me momentarily speechless as I took in her presence.
I gestured for her to sit down, and she quietly slid into the seat opposite me, her eyes filled with a mix of nervousness and excitement. For the first few minutes, we sat in silence, each of us trying to assess the other. But finally, I spoke up because I didn't want to let the night end in utter silence.
"We already know each other's name and family, and yet I can't help but wonder why a beautiful girl like you is still single," I remarked, my voice carrying a note of genuine surprise.
She cleared her throat before responding in a soft, almost melodic tone. "We all have our destined partner waiting for us somewhere. Perhaps mine is just taking his time locating me."
I couldn't help but chuckle deeply, still unsure if this relationship would work out. Despite that, I decided it was important to be upfront about the qualities I was looking for in a wife.
"Before we move forward, I think it's important for me to share the qualities I expect in a wife," I said, my tone serious yet kind.
"Sir, our starters," the waiter announced, placing a tray covered with a cloth on the table.
Turning to me, he inquired, "What would you like to order?"
I decided to seize the opportunity to showcase some charm. "Whatever the lady says," I responded, slyly noticing a subtle blush spread across her cheeks, and she looked away for an instant, her modesty briefly taking over. However, a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips.Seeing her reaction, I felt a sense of achievement, since my display of charm had worked its magic.
"I'm not actually comfortable eating in public places, so..." she began, but I gently interrupted, saying,
"Oh, please, we're completely alone here. I genuinely want you to feel at ease."
Her smile broadened momentarily as she nodded. She picked up the iPad menu and scrolled through it briefly before deciding, "I'll take two plates of stir-fry spaghetti, barbecued lamb, and a grape cocktail, please."
"That's it?" I inquired, a tinge of surprise in my voice at the small amount she had ordered. Based on my past dating experiences, I have come to the conclusion that ladies order a lot more than that.
"As I mentioned earlier, I'm not that comfortable eating in public places," she explained, her tone gentle yet firm.
"In that case, I'd recommend adding a pizza to the order and some chocolates as well, for the lady. Let's explore a variety of cocktails too," I proposed to the waiter.
"Of course, sir," he responded with a courteous nod, scribbling down the notes. He then quickly headed back inside.
After I turned my attention back to her, I couldn't help but feel a sense of respect and appreciation for her restrained choices. It was refreshing to be on a date with someone who doesn't consume excessively and is classy.
She spoke softly. "You were saying something about what you want in a wife...?"
"Yes, I believe in being transparent about my expectations. If we marry, I expect my wife to stay home and only leave the house when I permit it. You will not travel anywhere without my permission. I appreciate your modest dressing sense and would like you to keep it that way at all times, except for when we're alone together and I select a different attire for you to wear. Also, if we do marry, I would like to have control over your social circles. I expect you to have a limited number of friends, which I will select. This is to protect you from negative influences. You will be prohibited from communicating with any man, as well as my male bodyguards, except for your father and brother. Furthermore, no man shall have access to your face, and any who do will face imprisonment. We will employ a chef for others because I will not permit anyone to taste your food except for myself. I hope you'll be good with them." I concluded, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips to soften the impact of my words, knowing fully well that they are severe and far different from what most modern relationships are.
"Sorry, I forgot to add." I began, my tone becoming more intense, "You must comply with any decisions I make in our marriage, regardless of whether they coincide with what you want or not. Your opinion should never be voiced, because I expect unquestioning obedience. Additionally, you are not permitted to meddle in my affairs or interfere in my business. Lastly, I won't permit you to open a business if you start feeling bored. I understand that I'll be busy at times and might not come home for days, so I'll provide female entertainers to keep you occupied. However, when I am free, I'll take you on brief vacations outside the country."
I sighed. "Do you still want to be in a relationship with me?" I asked.
Our food arrived, but she remained silent, sipping her cocktail and avoiding my gaze. After we finished our meal, she finally spoke up, "I'm ready."
I was taken aback by her response, almost choking on a mouthful of pizza. "You do realise that your freedom will be limited if we proceed with this relationship," I stated cautiously.
She responded with a confident and assured tone, declaring, "I am fully aware of that, and I am fine with it. Also, I am not an extrovert. The reason I visited Abuja is for my cousin's wedding, but normally, I don't step out of Kano."
Still, I felt uneasy and guilty about the extent of her understanding of the situation. "I think you should take some time to think it through," I suggested, "especially considering my connection to your father. He contracts with my construction company for any projects in Kano. I wouldn't want him to think I'm trying to limit his daughter's freedom."
She nodded. But there was a gentle determination in her voice when she replied, "I appreciate your concern, but I have already given it a lot of thought. I am ready to continue this relationship with you. Also, the same rules apply to my mother. It's nothing new."
"It also applies to all the wives in my family." I asserted, "including my mother." I then called out, "Adamu!" One of my bodyguards promptly appeared, saluting and saying, "Yes, sir!"
"Give the lady my personal number," I instructed, the one specifically reserved for family contacts. He nodded.

It's a tranquil Friday evening, and I'm eagerly waiting for the arrival of Amina in my flat. The thought of her has been constantly on my mind throughout the week. I wanted to humble her ego and also satisfy my own pride and desire.
Standing on my balcony, I revel in the captivating sight of the raindrops falling gently from the sky. The cool weather adds to the serene atmosphere, and as I watch the raindrops, my mood grows calmer with each passing moment. I find myself forgetting all my problems and worries. In fact, the calming effect of the rain has put me in a generous mood, and I am even considering surprising her with financial compensation, despite the loss I incurred when I booked the Transcorp suite because of her.
"Sir." The voice of the man I had sent to fetch her from her hostel was like music to my ears. My smile widened while I turned around quickly, expecting to see her already kneeling before me.
With palpable excitement, I whispered, "Is she in the room?" My eagerness to see her was evident in my voice.
"She has returned to Kano." His words sent shockwaves through me, instantly erasing the smile from my face. My fists clenched and my teeth gritted in frustration, fueled by anger towards her disobedience yet again. I struggled to contain my rage. The thought of her casually dismissing my authority filled me with fury, because who does she think she is?
"We're leaving for Kano tomorrow morning." I stated, determined not to let her slip away without getting what I desired.<<>>
