Free time was a fickle thing and for the one Nilou loved the most, free time was far too rare.
She couldn't complain anyway─or rather she wouldn't dare complain─he was the general Mahammatra after all, his role was important and pivotal in maintaining peace and justice in Sumeru.
With that amount of responsibility came a great number of sacrifices that needed to be made and over the time they had spent together, Nilou had come to easily accept it as just another part of Cyno she had to love and appreciate.
Though, as rare as it may be, there were times where Cyno was finally allowed to drop the general title for a moment. And each time he had been graced such an opportunity, he always spent it doing the things he loved─playing Genius Invocation TCG, spending time with his friends at the tavern (even though he hated them sometimes), traveling to the forest to see how Collei was doing (despite Nilou always giving him status updates on the girl's well being), stargazing and most importantly, spending time with Nilou.
This time however, he asked Nilou how she would like to spend this feeble opportunity together.
"How should we spend this time together, Lou?"
She seemed a little surprised that he had asked, but her pretty face quickly morphed into one of thoughtfulness. At first, she had thought of something he would particularly be interested in but once she suggested her idea out loud, he had vehemently shook his head, claiming he wanted them to do something that she was interested in instead.
So she took a trip down the bank of ideas in her brain once again, digging through her brain for something fun, simple, interesting─anything really that the couple could do together to create another memory under the shimmery night sky, it does seem to be their thing after all.
Of all the ideas that ran through her head, one kept constantly nagging her in the back of her mind...
"Would you like to go dancing with me, love?" she peered at him through a cute excited smile.
Cyno tilted his head slightly, clearly confused, "Dancing...?"
Nilou nodded, her hair bouncing along, "Pretty please~"
"Okay...fine"

Dancing was Nilou's forte, it was the craft she was the most talented in and it was the one thing she could confidently say, at the top of her lungs on Liyue's tallest mountain, that she was the best at─and she wasn't the best at a lot of things.
Dance was a beautiful art. It was captivating, rhythmic, strategic─a lot of words could be used to describe it. There was no right or wrong way to dance, it was an abstract, a beautiful form of expression. As long as you felt you were doing something right as your body moved along to a loud or soundless rhythm, Then it could be considered dance.
Nilou could go on and on about how much she loved the arts and its significance but right now, she was way too excited about sharing a dance with Cyno at night in the cool, dusky dessert.
