She was sat on his bed in his her tank top and jeans. She looked down at her busted and cut up knuckles and hands before raising her hand to her cheek before wincing in pain just as Theo came back with a sweatshirt.

"Here, put this on." He handed her the shirt.

"Thank you." She took it and put it on.

"You'll be safe here." he told her as she pulled the sweatshirt over her head.

He grabbed a pail of water and a wash cloth and set in down in front of her before squatting in front of her. He wetted the cloth and reached out and grabbed her hand and use the cloth to clean off her busted knuckles. The moment he touched the wet cloth to your knuckle she winced and covered his hand with her hand stopping him. He looked up at her as she removed her palm from his.

"Sorry." She said as he gentle dapped her knuckle with the cloth.

"I can't believe Al..." Belle couldn't even finish her sentence.

"You and Tris are moving up through the ranks, and he's failing. It makes him hate himself and it makes him hate you two. He's just afraid." Theo told her as she shook her head.

"Everyone's afraid."

"I know, but fear does something strange to people like Al. But not you. Fear doesn't shut you down, it wakes you up. I've seen it." Theo looked up at her and she stared down at him, her lips parting slightly as she took a breath before he continued to clean her hands.

"You should lie down." Theo told her as he stood up, finished cleaning her hands, "Get some sleep." He finished as she nodded her head.

"Yeah."

"I'll take the floor." He told her before walking away.

Belle woke up the next morning with a gasp as she sat up. She got up and out of Theo's bed just as he walked in.

"How you feeling?" He asked her.

"Better."

"Good. Where'd you go yesterday?" He asked turning to her.

"Um, well. there's this spot that I found, gives you the peace of mind your looking for. If you walk out on the tracks, there's a beautiful grassy hill and the sun shines on it, making it so much more pretty and.. I like to sit there and think." She told him as he put his jacket on.

"It's getting a little boring here, is it?" He asked.

"No, I just... I feel like.. I don't... I'm just worried." She shook her head.

"I think you got other things to worry about, don't you?" He asked her as leaned against his desk and she nodded her head.

"Yeah. I should go." She said and got up and walked out.

She went to the cafeteria and found Tris and Cristina. She sat down putting her arm around Tris who hugged her back before Cristina spoke.

"Is that your sweater... or yours?" She looked at Belle's black sweater and Tris black sweater, that looked more like a thick hoodie.

"No." They both said with chuckles before looking at each other.

"So what happened to you guys last night?" Cristina asked

"Tris, Belle, can I talk to you for a second?" They heard behind them as Belle felt a hand on her shoulder and she gasped scooting away when she turned to see Al, "Listen, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me. Please, can you ever forgive me?" He asked as both girls stood up, seeing his giant bruise on his cheek and his split open lip.

"If ever you come close to me or her again, I will kill you." Belle told him and he backed away a little bit.

"Belle.." He tried to say.

"You need to stay away from us! You are a coward." Belle yelled at him as everyone quieted down to watch. Al waked away from them and everyone went back to their own conversations.

Belle, Tris, Will, and Cristina all sat on their beds after Belle and Tris told them what Al and the others did last night.

"I just can't believe he would do that. It's not like him at all." Cristina said before they started hearing commotion in the pit.

"What's that?" Will asked as they all got up and walked out.

As they walked out they watched some of the guys start to pull something up with a rope. It wasn't before long they saw a body at the end. Belle gasped when she saw that it was Al as well as with Cristina and Tris.

Belle stared at the lifeless body before looking down at the floor, willing the tears that had weld up in them to disappear before she turned and walked out. As she walked down the hallway Theo turned down the same hallway as her slowing down when he saw her.

"Belle. Belle!" He said louder when she went to walk away.

"Leave me alone." She told him turning down a dark corridor before he reached out and grabbed her arm.

"I'm sorry about Al."

"It's my fault that he's dead. I-I told him this morning when he tried to talk to me and Tris that I would kill him."

"No, it's not because of you. He made his own choice. He would have been factionless. He was not gonna pass that final test." Theo told her.

"Yeah, neither am I." She shook her head.

"Why do you say that?"

"You know why." She said after a moment of silence and he nodded his head, " And as soon as all the others find out, they're gonna kill me and Tris." She whispered to him so no one else heard and he shook his head.

"I'm not gonna let that happen. Four won't either." He told her and she just stared at him.

"Come with me." He said and she slowly followed him only to be brought into the room where they get put in simulations.

She walked into the doorway and stopped as he started getting stuff ready like usual.

"Shut the door." He told her and she walked farther in and shut the door behind her.

"You're gonna practice." He told her.

"In my fear landscape?" She asked him confused.

"No. In mine." He told her walking over to the computer
