Chapter 8: The wedding

After letting herself freak out some more, Clove finally calms herself down and takes in the news she just heard.

"Yes, the wedding is in 2 days, Princess." Mai says.

"I can't believe this! How did I sleep for this long? This is all happening so fas-"

"Your Highness!" Mai says while putting her hands on Clove's shoulders.

"You'll be okay. Everything will be okay." Mai continues.

"Are you sure?" Clove questions.

"Yes. I'm 100% sure." Mai says with a smile on her face.

~10 minutes later~

While taking a walk in the halls, Clove and Mai were catching up on things that happened during the past 3 days when all of a sudden, Clove hears a familiar voice.

She turns the corner and sees Kyro with Nouren and Kharis. Clove smiles big as she starts walking faster towards Kyro.

Kyro turns around to see his beautiful wife coming towards him.

"Clove, You're finally awake!", he says while bringing Clove into his embrace.

At that moment, the twins come and are a little shocked to see them hugging. They never get to see the hug that much, or at all to be honest.

"Yay!!" Kai quietly says as she stands next to her brother.

Clove looks up at Kyro with a loving smile while he rubs the back of her head and kisses her on her forehead.

"I'm so happy you're okay. I've been worried about you."

Cloves continues to look him in the eyes while he continues and everyone starts leaving one by one.

"When you got taken, saving you was the only thing on my mind. The constant thought of losing you would have broken me internally. You coming here has changed me a lot, you alone have changed me like no one else could have. And I can't lose you. You've become this important to me that I have you on my mind every passing day. I have never felt this way with anyone before and you being here with me has made me change a lot. I've grown stronger and felt more at ease with your presence and I just want to thank yo.."

Before he could finish speaking, Clove goes in for a kiss. This kiss was nothing like the others. It was more meaningful, loving, and deep. Real deep.

Although they wanted to continue, Mai called for Clove. Someone was here to see her.

As Mai guide her to the meeting room, they walk in to see many people from the Azure clan. Clove's uncle, Arkos and a few others from the higher ups. Clove is so excited to see her uncle after all this time.

When both of Clove's parents were gone now, she had no one else besides her uncle. Till now, Arkos has been her guardian through everything. Even seeing how Clove is a full on adult. He swore to protect Clove no matter what. But seeing how all this happened while he wasn't here got him angry and wondered if it was wise to actually let Clove come here in the first place. Yes, it was her choice but he felt like he could have stopped her from coming.

"Uncle!", Clove says as she sees him sitting with some council people from her clan. "I'm so glad you could make it."

As Arkos gets up, he goes closer to Clove to give her a hug.

"It's so good to see you my niece. It's been too long", he says

"A few weeks. It's only been a few weeks. It hasn't been that long.", Clove complains as she smiles at her uncle.

"Way to long for me though. Look what has happened to you already... You've been attacked and I couldn't do nothing about it."

"It's not your fault you couldn't protect me so don't blame yourself. You couldn't have stopped any of this. So please."
