Schnee Manor

Kingdom of Atlas

"I don't want to stay here anymore." She declared. Upon hearing that from her daughter, Jacques Schnee ceased circulating in the room.

"I beg your pardon?" To clarify, he asked.

Weiss' voice, filled with determination, repeated the sentence. "I said, I. WANT. TO. LEAVE. I don't want to stay here, anymore. I don't want to stay in Atlas anymore!"

"Young Lady, clearly, I do not give a damn about what you want!" He stabs a finger in her direction angrily. "This is about the Schnee family name and your apparent insistence on dragging it through the mud!"

Weiss was astonished as she got up from the bed's edge. "I have done nothing but fight to uphold the honor of my family name, a name that you married into!"

*Slap!*

The sound of a forceful palm striking the air reverberates in the room. Her father has struck her cheek. With a shock intake of breath, she finds herself weeping, her countenance reflecting disbelief as tears stream down her cheeks.

Jacques Schnee's gaze remained fixed on her following his slap.

"This behavior of yours is disappointing. You can't possibly understand the lengths I've gone to in order to keep this family where it is. And if you think running off like your sister is going to make the Schnee name stronger, you ARE wrong." Jacques scoffed. "Your former boyfriend and your companions have left a deep mark on you! They fooled you!"

"He's not dead!" For the first time, Weiss raised his voice in protest. "Ruby, the others... They are my friends. MY TRUE FRIENDS!" She continued. "I'm not siding with anyone, nor my sister. I am doing what is right and that does not include wasting my time up here with these clueless people in Atlas!"

Jacques ignored her rant and turns around to walk away.

"The Schnee family legacy isn't yours to leave." Weiss spoke. "It is mine. And I'll do it as a huntress!"

Her father came to a standstill and scrutinized her with a split-second glance. "No... you won't. You are not leaving Atlas. You're not going to leave the manor grounds unless I allow it. You are going to stay here, out of sight, and out of trouble, until you and I come to an agreement on your future."

"What?!" Weiss gave a loud gasp in astonishment.

"Your presupposition that you can have whatever it is you want is a clear sign of our failure as parents. But from now on, I'll be giving you the full attention you require, starting by keeping you where I can see you."

Weiss is speechless in shock, struggling to form the words in her mouth. "Y-You can't just keep me from leaving!"

"I can, and the staff here will make sure of it." He declared as he came up to the door.
