Flashback continues:

A nurse came and said, "She lost a heavy amount of blood and the hospital's blood bank doesn't have blood of her type. Please contact some other blood bank quickly"

I nodded my head and quickly contacted a nearby blood bank for blood. They inquired about the blood type, and I muted the call and asked her friends if they knew her blood type.

"What's her type?"

"Um. She likes tall men with beards and someone older than her and--"

The taller one smacked the other girl's head, interrupting her.

"It's A positive, Sir," She said

I nodded my head and informed the blood bank about the same, and quickly rushed out towards the parking lot and drove my car to the blood bank to receive the blood.
My hands were shivering while driving.

Ankit was at the hospital, taking care of all the formalities and inquiring her friends about her for further legal procedure.

I received the blood and drove the car at high speed.

As soon as I reached the hospital, the nurse took the bag of blood from me.

After about an hour, the doctor stepped out of the OT. I rushed towards him.

"Is she alright, Doctor?" I asked him, feeling a mixture of restlessness and concern for Mahi.

"Yes. She is okay now but we can't tell anything until she gains consciousness. She would be transferred to a normal ward." The doctor furthers them about her condition to her friends in detail and clears their doubts. While I was present here physically, my mind and heart were eager to meet her, see her with my own eyes, and make sure that she was fine.

She was transferred to a normal ward, her friends had already met her and were currently sleeping in the chairs outside her room.

After she had gained consciousness, I finally breathed in relief knowing that she was out of danger.

I wanted to see her but because of the effect of medicine, she fell asleep and her friends were awake. I think of a valid reason why I was meeting their friend when she was asleep.

But, now that they were asleep, I went inside the ward sneakily.

I felt a pang of hurt in my heart looking at her attached to wires and wrapped in bandages.

I sat on the stool, placed beside her bed. In just a few hours, I felt a kind of attachment with her.

I ignored the urge to hold her hands without her consent and just sat there looking at her beautiful face. She looks so peaceful while sleeping having no clue about the tsunami of emotions I'm feeling because of her.

My cell started vibrating in my pocket, breaking my staring session. I heard the birds chirping and looked at the sun rising.

Realization hits me- I've been staring at her for the past hour.

I chuckled softly, ruffling my hair, and called back Ankit, who called me earlier.

"Sparsh, the investigator got a big clue regarding your sister's case," Ankit said from the other side.

I stood up before questioning him in urgent, "What clue?"

"He can't tell it through the phone. He is requesting your presence at his office"

"Ahmedabad, now?"

"Yes."

I looked at Mahi for a few minutes for the last time. I was hoping to talk to her, look into her eyes, or at least look at her smiling. But, I have to go, it's important.

Maybe, next time if the universe wants, we'll meet.

Flashback ends.

She was standing in front of me, looking scared. But why?

After knowing that she approached me because of a dare, I felt a little hurt, I was lowkey hoping that she would have approached me herself and not because of a dare.

But If the dare made her talk to me, I don't hate it.

For the past year, I've admired her from a distance. I was over the moon when I got to know that she studies in the college opposite my station. I would see her every weekday.

While I was in Ahmedabad, Ankit took care of the case and he became a good friend of them. Pallavi is now Ankit's girlfriend. He pursued her for six months and then she accepted him.

I was happy for him, he went through a lot in his life, and finally, he got his happiness.
He told me that he fell for her while solving the case for Mahi and then after lots of courage, he decided to pursue her.

Pallavi and Prachi both know me and my feelings towards Mahi. They even told me that they would introduce me to Mahi but I rejected the offer stating that I wanted us to meet naturally and not through a plan.

I know I'm stupid, it would have been easier for me but knowing Mahi, she is an old-school lover and I want her to experience it.

And, how do I know?

Her two talkative friends are enough to let me know a lot about her.

Pallavi, Prachi, and Ankit had told me about the plan before, and I rejected it but they didn't listen to me. And, here she was standing in front of me, shivering.

I had made up my mind that I would win her heart myself without anyone's help. So, when I asked her, for her number with the excuse of forwarding the reel, she gave the phone to Pallavi. If I wanted her number, I would have taken it from her friends a long time ago but I wanted to ask her myself. And, I can't let the opportunity slip from my hand, so, I snatched my phone from Pallavi's grip and I again passed it to her.

I ignored her friends smirk and offered them a ride, hoping to spend some time with her.

Although the dare was very absurd at least it made us meet each other officially.

We didn't reveal to Mahi that it was me who took her to hospital that day and we pretended like we didn't know each other.

During the car ride, when our hands touched accidentally, I felt butterflies.

If someone had told me earlier that this butterfly thing was true I would have laughed at them but now that I felt them, it feels so magical.
