Attachment - Violet Cady Potter
"Is anyone else bored in this house?"
Violet glanced up from the book she had taken from Sam's bedside to table to see him enter the living room. Colby was scrolling through something on his phone.
"Honestly? Yeah," Colby shrugged. "We aren't doing anything."
"Is anyone home?"
"Malia! Katelyn!" Violet gasped, dropping the book as she watched the two come in. Malia had taken a particular liking to her when they communicated - through the sound of a child falling down the stairs. Katelyn was a week later when Violet tripped over a chair.
"Is Viv here?" Malia asked, looking around. Violet stomped loudly and Malia smiled. "Hey Viv!"
The girl's smile faded. She wished she could actually talk to them. It sucked she couldn't respond with a 'hi' or 'hey'.
"I wonder what would happen if we could see her," Sam said softly. "We talk to her all the time...it's sad."
Violet's eyes brimmed with tears. It was like he could read her mind. She curled up in a ball, setting her chin on her knees. This all just felt wrong.
I want to hug them again, she thought. She closed her eyes and drew in the energy around her before going over and holding her arms out to Sam.
"Hi Vi," he smiled. "At this point it isn't even weird I can see you. Come here."
She hugged him tight. "I want to talk to you properly, too."
When Violet stepped away, the energy drifted and she flopped against the couch again. She was just so done with all of it. Being dead, being stuck as a ghost. She wished she could make them all mediums...then they could talk normally.
