"What's that?"
Violet screamed, a hand flying to her chest as she whipped around. "Goodness, Libby! Don't do that to me!"
Libby Golbach had quickly become Violet's good - no great - friend.
"Sorry," she grinned. "But what's that?"
Violet glanced to the book about child spirits and attachments in her hands. "I found something, but it's scary. And really...I shouldn't."
The younger spirt's mission to turn Sam and Colby into mediums was ongoing. And everyone - ghosts - they had met, Violet had told them. Everyone seemed on board...even Sallie.
"Show me," Libby said softly.
Violet handed it over, looking away as Libby's eyes gazed over the page. The words.
An attachment can turn people into mediums, but it is dangerous for them. They could become residual if done incorrectly.
"I don't want to re-live the crash," Violet whispered, tears pricking her eyes. "I can't. I won't."
Libby traced over the words. "I think you should try. If it goes well...well Vi, they'll be able to see us."
The two shared a nod.
It was dangerous. It was scary. It could go awfully. Everything could fall apart.
But god, would that reward bring so much.
"Is that it?" Violet asked, dusting off her hands with a grin.
"Looks like it!"
"They're gonna be so concerned," the younger one sighed, running a hand through her waves. Blue eyes darted to the door as it creaked to open. "If this all worked, we're about to hear some real serious screams."
"HOLY-"
"Called it."
"How-when-what?" Colby stuttered, Malia at his side and Sam and Katelyn behind them.
"Hi!" Violet giggled, waving happily.
"What did you do?" Malia breathed. "I can see you, Violet!"
"Nah...really?"
The woman rolled her eyes, walking over and gasping as her arms firmly wrapped around the girl. "I can hug you!"
"I didn't realise that work!" Violet squealed, pulling away and running into Colby's arms. "Hi!"
"Oh my god," he laughed, tears in his eyes. "What did you do?"
"Made you - all of you, apparently - mediums!"
"Of course you did!" Sam laughed, running forward and spinning her in the air. "Are we even surprised?"
"You really shouldn't!"
"You're so, so evil," Katelyn smiled, ruffling the girl's hair. "Now we have a little sister, I see."
"No but it's the fact we can still see through you."
"You can!?"
"You're a ghost!"
