On December 25, of the year 2005, three years old Arina had learned about Santa Claus for the first time.
"You will be visited by a loving old man in red with thick, white bread. He has a warm laugh that will draw children like you in and shower you with gifts."
Grandpa Tsu said gently, his veiny, shaking-to-the-bones arms warming little Arina who had had her teeth clattered non-stop, burying herself inside his embrace.
After a while, she said:
"What...are gifts?"
"What do you wish for the most, child?"
"For grandpa to be with me forever."
On the brink of death, how should you tell a child the truth.
Quiet. The old man wiped his tears away in secret.
And his own wish, is for her to be able to live, and experience a happy life, even when he is no longer here.
"Well now, then Santa Claus will grant you your wished gift."
"I love you, grandpa."
Their stomachs rumbled, and Arina fell on the snow, letting her imagination run, and the old man laid down after her.
He envisioned a happy life for the little girl. Maybe if he does it enough, it will become true. Dear child, you shall never experience pain, coldness, or hunger anymore.
You shall experience what going to a grocery store is like; what it is like to order food in a restaurant; what it is like to enjoy your coffee while staring through the glass window of the coffee shop at the lovely bright world outside; what it is like to have a birthday party and you will feel like the center of the world; and lastly, what it is like celebrating Christmas with all your loved ones.
Best of all, you shall experience while growing old alongside them. It will not just be a one-time occasion.
"Merry Christmas, Arina Avenira."
Perhaps Santa is not real, because they didn't have their wishes granted.
On December 25, 2036, Arina Avenira stood in her office and suddenly realized, that 2015 was her first and will also be her last Christmas. Life circumstances had not let her re-experience it again.
In that brief moment, tears spilled out of her eyes.
But it was more about content than regret. She was able to bring many individuals out there years of happy Christmas ahead. From now on, the Curtain had fallen. Christmas is no longer a forbidden thing.
'I am too lucky to be able to experience it first, and because of so, I know just how joyful it can be, and in my heart I prayed for the dear world to experience it forever, and my prayer had paid off.'
She lightly closed her eyes and smiled, intertwining her hands, thinking to herself and finding peace within.
Everywhere in the world, children shall never suffer as she did. Christmas will be their most fond memory around their family members.
The good-conditioned small green velvet box is still sitting on her makeup table to this day. Inside kept a diamond necklace from a bosom one of the old days. One she will never forget and express her gratitude toward.
On the other side of the globe, Asano Gakushuu keeps receiving responses as to which the Spasitel is too busy to accommodate him. His daughter is getting impatient.
But his wife will bring delicious food to the table, and they will celebrate a cozy Christmas together with Adeliya tearing off dozens of gifts from the Santa Claus under the Christmas tree.
Many of young Arina's wishes have been ignored, but at the end of the day, her final, greatest wish is granted. Children across the globe shall forever be happy, and pass them down to the next generations.
That is the best way to save the world.
Just like her younger self once declared:
"Oh, can you hear that, Asano-kun — the sound of my inmost soul?" she giggled, and her bosom one lifted her off the ground. "This Arina wants to save the world! Dreamers, let's all save the world!"
