Y/N and Sarah drove up to the old, decrepit manor. The sun was setting in the dusk sky, giving the house an otherworldly appearance. The two stepped out and stood at the front gate. They looked at the large manor in front of them.

It had a Victorian-era aesthetic to it. Spires and concrete poles lined the roof. A large tower sat above the entrance, reaching into the sky above. The two noted the conservatory attached to the side and the overgrown trees in the front lot.

Y/N: Well, this place is cheery.

They walked towards the front gate. A plaque with the initials H.M. covered the entrance. Stone gargoyles looked down at those by the front gate.

Sarah: What do you think? The usual coverage?

Y/N: Yeah. Let's do a sweep of the house and try to find the room with the most activity. Then we can come back for the equipment.

The two opened the front gate and walked through the entrance. They noted the large tree blocking the front door, so they decided to take the side path to the service entrance. They walked past dead bushes and tangled roots on their way.

Through the front lot, they passed by a set of tombstones and head busts dedicated to the manor's former residents. Y/N looked at one in particular. It had a woman's face with closed eyes. The tombstone was labeled "Madame Leota."

Sarah: Hey, come check this one out.

Y/N looked to the side and walked over to where she was standing. She pointed to the large stone grave sticking out of the ground. The casket appeared to be raised out of the ground itself, held up by a slab of concrete. The statue on top of the casket made it look like someone's foot and hat were crawling out. Sarah read what was written on the memorial.

Sarah: "Here floats Captain Culpeper Clyne. Allergic to dirt so he's pickled in brine. He braved the sea and all her wrath, but drowned on land while taking a bath."

Y/N: Sheesh. Must've been a pretty lousy sea captain if that's how he went.

Sarah nudged Y/N while he gave a sheepish look in a joking manner. The two then continued on their journey. Walking past more headstones, they eventually made their way to the service entrance. Y/N tried to push it open, but found the doors to be heavy. Sarah joined him and the two managed to heave open the double doors.

They looked inside at the room in front of them. They each pulled out a flashlight to look in. With that, the two then stepped foot into the manor, the doors shutting behind them. What neither noticed was the doors locking behind them. As they entered, the sun finally sat in the sky, turning everything dark as night consumed the land. At that moment, a mysterious fog rose up around the manor's grounds, blocking out all view to the outside world.

Inside, Y/N and Sarah began looking around the room. Reaching into his bag, Y/N pulled out a small EMF reader. It was white and about the size of a TV remote. A series of different colored lights lined the top, ranging from green to red. Y/N flicked it on with only the first green light lightning up.
