I sat there next to Nicholas after I had helped him calm down. He clearly wasn't doing great.

He seemed very scared, and it looked like he was afraid of me. I guess he thought I was going to hurt him because he didn't know who I was.

I spoke again. "Have you ever thought about going to therapy?"

"I've already been to multiple therapists. I couldn't find one that I had a connection with, so I gave up, I haven't tried again since."

I thought for a moment. "Wait. I think I have an idea. Maybe I could help you using my magic, if you're okay with it. I don't think I could do it all at once, since I don't think you would be able to handle it, but I still think I could try to help, if you would like?"

"That's not a bad idea. Maybe we could try that." I knew that it was kind of weird to replace therapy with magic, but if it was going to help, then so be it.

We decided that every time we met up, I would use my magic to reverse whatever trauma was built into his brain, even if it was just a little bit at a time. Nicholas was fine with that, as long as he actually did get better without paying any money. I was happy that he trusted me that much. I was also hoping that I could get rid of any negative feelings he had about himself. He told me that he hated himself for liking a boy. Maybe his parents weren't a fan of that? Is that the reason why he moved here? Were his parents not nice?

The week went by kind of quickly. Nothing very eventful happened, and everything was pretty normal. Friday night, I was sitting at my desk doing homework when I suddenly felt a wave of exhaustion crash over me. "Huh, that's odd. I haven't used my magic at all today."

I made it a rule for myself to not use my magic powers if I didn't need to. They drained my energy and I could accidentally hurt someone. I also didn't want anyone seeing them.

I decided that the best thing to do was to just go to bed. I could finish my homework another time.

I attempted to stand up and get ready for bed, but I almost fell over. My vision went dark for a few seconds before returning to normal. "I think I should just put on some pajamas and worry about anything else later."

I put my pajamas on despite feeling like I was going to pass out. I climbed into bed and reached over to turn off the light. I then fell asleep immediately.

I woke up to find myself in the same town I had seen before. Except this time, everything was much darker. Nobody was on the streets, and all of the market stands filled with things to sell were gone.

A large castle was looming over everything. I could feel something pulling me towards it, but I wasn't sure what. I decided to make my way over to the entrance. I was about to open the large doors in front of me when I felt something behind me.

I turned around to see the bright figure from my other dream. Why was it here? Why was I seeing it again?

"Are you sure you want to go in there? I don't think you'll like what you see." It said, softly.

I suddenly woke up covered in sweat. "What was that?!" I yelled out. I then covered my mouth because I realized that my parents were probably still asleep. It was dark out, and the moon was shining through my window.

I checked my phone. "Four am? Why do I wake up so early when I dream?" I just wanted to get a good night's sleep.

I couldn't think about it any more than that because I suddenly fell asleep again.

I woke up to something strange glowing on my nightstand. It was a necklace that had a compass in it. My parents gave it to me a while back. They said it was something my grandparents had, but I've never really seen them. I don't think either of my parents speak to their parents anymore.
