Nicholas and I were currently at a train station disguised as a gas station by the use of magic. I thought back to when I was a kid. I would tell my parents about this really cool train station. They would just say “That’s nice honey.” and keep driving. I guess they just thought I had a big imagination.
We walked up to the ticket booth to see a sign that had all of the places that we could go to and the time that that train would get here. “Which one of these do we need to go to?” Nicholas asked. “I’m not sure, let me check…”
I grabbed the compass and went to see which location it would tell me. It said we had to go to a town called Spirits village. I looked at the sign and it was on there. “I guess that’s where we’re headed.”
“Hey, are you kids gonna buy tickets or what?” The man behind the counter asked. “Yes.”
We went up to the counter and the man looked oddly surprised. “U-um, sorry, we’re actually closed right now.” He said. I couldn’t quite see his face from behind the counter.
“But you just asked us if we were going to buy tickets.” I said. Nicholas stepped in front of me. “If we give you money, will you let us get on? Otherwise I’m gonna poke my head behind that counter and you’re not going to like what happens next.”
“U-uh, o-okay.” Nicholas handed him the money, and he gave him the tickets.
Oh my god that was so hot!
Wait, I need to not think about that right now. He probably just traumatized that poor guy. “Sorry.” I whispered to him.
Nicholas handed me my ticket and we waited. “You guys are lucky, the next train will be here in a few minutes.”
And just like he said, the train was here sooner than we thought. The person who punched our tickets was also surprised, but said nothing. He showed us where we would be staying for the night in a sleeping car. We placed our bags down and were told that dinner was being served in the dining car.
“I think I’m gonna lie down. I’m still pretty tired.” I told Nicholas. “I thought you slept earlier.” Nicholas said, slightly joking. “Yeah, on grass and dirt! Wait, you also slept on that. How are you not tired?” I asked.
“Because you used magic on me, remember? Anyways, how about you come with me to eat dinner, and then you sleep? Besides, I’m sure eating something will also give you energy.”
I was kind of hungry. Why was Nicholas so convincing?
“Alright, I’ll eat something.” I said, hoping that would make Nicholas happy. We headed over to the dining car and that’s when we noticed that nobody here was human.
Well they sort of looked human, they just had pointy ears and magic looking features. They were also slightly taller than the average human.
They all stared at us. “Wow, those kids have very great human disguises.” “Yeah, those look amazing.”
“They must have a lot of magic to have those.”
Disguises? What were they talking about?
We both were confused but sat down. The server handed us a menu, and we both decided on what we were getting.
I was getting some chicken parmesan, while Nicholas was getting some ham.
It was hard for me to eat without falling asleep in my food. I was just so tired.
“How is your food?” Nicholas asked. “Pretty good.” I said while yawning. “Hey, you can finish that, and then you can sleep all you want.” He said. “I know.”
After that, we went back to our room. We were both pretty exhausted. Our room had a bunk bed. Nicholas was going to be sleeping on the top bunk, while I was sleeping on the bottom.
I laid down on the bed. Nicholas was right, the food did give me a little more energy.
“Goodnight.” I said to him.
“Goodnight.” He responded.
Before I could fall asleep though, I was stuck thinking about Nicholas. He was coming on this adventure with me! Maybe this will give me a chance to tell him how I feel.
I was confused about all of this, so I asked the necklace about it. This was its intended purpose.
“Should I tell him how I feel?” I whispered to it, trying to be quiet.
“By him, I’m assuming you mean Nicholas? He is the only closest person I can think of.”
It knows who I have feelings for. I guess it wasn’t that hard to tell who I liked. “Yeah…”
“Well, I think it should be your decision. If you want to tell him, then go ahead. If you aren’t ready, then wait until you are. You shouldn’t be forced to do something if you aren’t ready.” It said.
“You know what? You’re right. I’ll wait until I know this is all over.” I took the necklace off and put it back in my bag. I laid down in my bed, finally able to sleep somewhere comfortable. That dirt was not comfortable.

I woke up, this time in another dream. I was at the castle doors again. This time the bright figure, who made a branch go through my chest in my last dream, was not here.
I was so focused on the castle that I forgot about the warning it had said to me before. I pushed open the doors, walking in.
The castle was big and grand. But it felt like something was missing from it…
I walked around aimlessly, until I found doors to a large room. I opened them up to find what seemed to be the throne room. And that’s when I saw him.
One of the twins from my previous dream. But I couldn’t see his brother… Even though he seemed to be a lot older, I could tell that he still looked like me.
Wait, was he…?
Before I could think about anything else, he noticed me peeking through the door. “You’re not supposed to be in here.”
I couldn’t move. He slowly approached me. Fear was coursing through my veins. How could he see me? He wasn’t able to see me before!
He almost reached me, but I woke up before he could.
I shot up, gasping for air, and was surprised to see Nicholas next to me. “Wilbur, it’s me.” He said. “What happened?” I asked. “You were having a nightmare.”
Well, I knew that. “I woke up when I heard you sleep-talking. Are you okay?” He had a worried look on his face. I immediately calmed down once I realized that I was not going to die
“Now that you’re here, I am.” I said, grabbing his hand. “Thanks for waking me up.” I said, whipping tears off of my face. I’m not sure how they got there.
“You’re welcome.” He said.
Nicholas stayed next to me until I fell asleep again. It felt nice to have him by my side, even if he couldn’t sleep next to me like I desperately wanted him to. We probably couldn’t on this small bed anyways.
***
I woke up the next morning feeling very well rested despite the nightmare. I got up out of the bed and stretched.
I noticed that Nicholas was also awake. “How are you feeling?” He asked. “I’m feeling a whole lot better.” I answered. “How about we go eat some breakfast?” Nicholas suggested.
“That would be nice.” I was pretty hungry, and I wanted to get something to eat.
We headed over to the dining car again to eat breakfast. People were still giving us weird looks, but I wasn’t exactly awake yet, so I didn’t care. I had some eggs and bacon while Nicholas had french toast.
He let me take a small bite of his french toast. “Mm! That’s actually pretty good.”
Nicholas let out a sigh. “You’re so amazing.”
“What was that?” I asked. I didn’t entirely hear him, but I’m pretty sure he just called me amazing.
"Um, I said 'yeah, This food is amazing!'"
“Okay…” That was definitely not what he said, but I didn’t say anything else. I didn’t want to embarrass him further.
We both finished eating our food and went back to our room. By the use of magic our beds had disappeared, and we now had a table and nice cushioned seats to sit on. I was definitely going to be reading while I was here.
We sat down for a while, both of us not talking. I was reading something while Nicholas was staring out of the window. There wasn’t much to see except grass, trees, and the occasional animal on a farm.
After sitting in silence for a while, Nicholas asked me a question. “What do you think you’ll find in this new place?”
I think about it for a second. “Well, I hope to find my real parents. My other parents were great, but I’d like to find out who my real parents are.” I did not tell him that I thought those twins from my dream looked like me. “And also my home.” I wanted to find where I was born. And if my dreams were telling me anything, it might be a large castle.
A few hours later, the sky was turning a nice golden shade. The sun was setting, and I knew we would be arriving at that town soon.
Thirty minutes later we hear someone call for Spirits village. I guess this was our stop.
We grabbed our bags and began to get off of the train. And what we saw was amazing.
