In the following weeks, Draco spent a long time perfecting a large batch of Wiggenweld potion, a potion with general healing properties that usually is used to awaken someone from a magically induced sleep or stupor. However, if used as a salve, perhaps over a cut it would lessen the recovery time as well as prevent scaring, though it would not completely erase the painful cuts of the blood quill. Despite the arithmancy equations that predicted what ratios would likely be most effective, Draco still spent many late nights alone in Snape's classroom slaving over several large cauldrons rigged to rotate themselves over carefully maintained fires.

Finally, Draco had a large batch of Wiggenweld potion with a perfect green hue. Draco's recipe had to be modified quite heavily to come out this well. Draco altered the amounts and even the conditions of the Moly that were grown in, an effective herb in counteracting dark magic such as the blood quill. He also altered the potion to lessen the amount of Dittany necessary for an effective potion, as it was necessary for its healing properties in treating wounds and injuries, yet far too expensive for everyday use.

Unfortunately, lessening the amount of Dittany did increase the amount of Wiggentree bark necessary because of its restorative properties. Thankfully Draco was able to recruit Longbottom to grow some trees for future use. This meant that while he was spending more importing Wiggentree bark, in the future he would be able to greatly decrease the amount he was spending on it and be able to make this potion for a reduced price, lower than anything currently available.

But for now, Draco would deal with the lost profit from the Wiggentree potions he would supply to the Gryffindors, it was still beneficial to him, the Gryffindors would tell him of the effectiveness of the potion without a doubt.

Draco had spent the night in the potions classroom sleeping with his head burrowed in his arms. Draco knew Filtch would never intrude upon Snape's classroom whether it was day or night, as long as Draco stayed inside he would be safe.

When Draco woke in the early hours of the morning, he smelled the gentle herb and medicinal odor that was indicative of a well-made Wiggenweld potion. Draco's chair tipped over in his rush to inspect the large cauldron of mass-brewed Wiggenweld potion. Ignoring the ache of his back and neck, Draco leaned over it trying to catch the light off of its simmering surface. Draco saw a pearlescent shine just on the edges. Perfect.

Draco cut his finger with his wand, allowing a small

Draco waved his wand in an arc to begin a gentle stir as he retrieved a ladle and his custom-ordered jars. Draco needed his brews to be recognizable. Unlike most potion masters, who used whatever bottles they found, usually magically blown glass jars with varying sizes and irregular spherical shapes, Draco had custom-ordered square jars. Draco had always been annoyed with the wasted space spherical jars caused and decided to solve it. It benefited him twofold, both in building recognition for his brews and in the simple pleasure of a well-made product.

In the future, Draco planned to sell his potions with multiple doses and therefore planned to offer a measuring spoon with it, or perhaps separately. This would be a perfect opportunity to see the functionality of it.

Draco's ladle was specially designed for this potion's use and purpose, it included fifty doses for topical application, which should be perfect for communal use in the common room of Gryffindor tower. Draco's potion perfectly filled twenty jars, Draco siphoned the last of the potion from the bottom of the cauldron into the ladle with his wand before pouring it into the last few jars.

With his labor completed Draco carefully lined the jars into his bag smiling at how well they stacked together. Draco was quite pleased with his finished product. He knew he should not leave just yet, but it was late enough in Filtch's patrol that he likely wouldn't be as thorough as earlier in the night. He decided to risk it.
