Lore dump: a few months ago, I posted about how Felix (this guy✨) and Damion (Ryan's father) had a "thing" back in college, and how that thing ended up severely traumatizing Felix (because Damion is an absolute monster ✌️)
And as a result, Felix never trusted anyone ever again, becoming incredibly paranoid and controlling in order to make sure he never lets his emotions get the better of him and to stop anything bad from happening to him again
He inherited his father's business empire and married Sandra who's your stereotypical spoiled princess in it for the money, and later on had Chase (who was a surrogate child since not only was Felix always attracted to men, but he downright refuses to take part in any physical/emotional interactions with other people, and Sandra doesn't want to ruin her perfect supermodel body)
As a father, he was supper controlling of Chase, forcing him to be this picture perfect child that would one day also take over the business, until Chase ran away from home at age 15 and built his own life in Crystallight (where ofc he meets Aaron at age 20✨)
Also Sandra is literally not in Chase's life at all, she's always on vacation somewhere in the world, and is only ever at home when Felix needs to present the perfect family imagine and has ignored Chase his entire life. The only family member Chase has ever been close with is his grandfather (Felix's father), who he never saw often anyway
