The question hung in the air, a silent yet undeniable presence that lingered between them. Haechan's words echoed in the quiet of the cabin, his gaze shifting between Hope and Mark with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty.
Hope glanced at Mark, her heart pounding in her chest as she searched for the right words. "What are we?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper.
Mark met her gaze, his expression unreadable as he considered his response. "I think... we're something more than friends, but less than... something else," he ventured cautiously.
Haechan's brow furrowed in confusion. "So, what does that make us?" he asked, his tone tinged with frustration.
Hope reached out, taking Haechan's hand in hers. "I think it makes us... whatever we want to be," she said softly, her eyes shining with sincerity.
Mark nodded in agreement, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, whatever we want to be," he echoed.
In that moment, the weight of the question lifted, replaced by a sense of possibility and freedom. They didn't need to label their relationship or define it in concrete terms. They were simply three people, bound together by a shared journey and a deep, unspoken connection.
As they sat together in the glow of the fire, the warmth of their bond enveloped them, filling the cabin with a sense of contentment and belonging. And in that moment, they knew that whatever the future held, they would face it together, united in their shared love and understanding.
