Jacob also left the room with an angry expression and slammed the door.

Billy, Mom and me sat in silence and nobody said a word.
Until I couldn't stand the awkward silence anymore.
„What did just happen in here?", I asked.

„The less you know the better for you...", Billy just said leaving me still wondering with this situation.
I looked at mom who started to clean up the dishes.
„Did you read about the article with..."

I didn't even listen to Billy who started to switch up the topic and talked about the newspaper with my Mom.
„I'll go for a walk.", I said angry and made my way out of the house without daring to look at them.

The fresh air did me good at this moment to get away from the previous stress. I don't know who this Paul was, but it left me speechless how rude he was.
I decided to walk to the beach again because it just calmed me down.
The windy air and the fresh smell of the sea, just ethereal.
I walked along the coast until I sat down on a good place in the sand. My fingers slid over the cold sand and I enjoyed the view. It got quite cool and dark because it was already in the evening.
The stars started to show themselves in the sky and everything seemed like a calming dream.

Until I saw something.

It was in the water. I first thought it was a fish something like a shark but it came near.
The closer it got, the more I could see it.
It was a man, still with his clothes on and really pale. Pale like chalk.
Was he even real.

I got really bad vibes so I decided to stand up and walk back. Why is he freaking me out so much?
I decided to run because I had the feeling he was chasing me. I ran so fast that I could hear my heart pumping, but I didn't dare to turn around because I felt like he would hurt me.
Slowly I couldn't breathe and my instinct forced me to turn around.
As I did this, I didn't realize that I kept running until I suddenly slammed into someone.
It was...Jacob.

"Are you hurt?", he asked me worried and reached out his hand to me.
I just shook my head and tried to get up out of breath without his help.
"What is wrong? Your heart is pumping like crazy!", he said and I looked at him confused.
"You can hear my heart?", I asked and he ignored my question.

"Who did you run away from?", he asked and tried to look behind me.
"After your disrespectful friend and your behavior, I don't have to tell you anything.", I just said without daring to look at him but when I wanted to get past him, he grabbed my arm.

"Meadow I'm sorry for my behavior earlier but this is serious. What did you saw?", he asked worried and looked me deep into my eyes.
I couldn't look away as hard as I wanted to.
"There was a man in the sea...he was very weird looking with clothes on and really pale. He just scared me somehow..", I tried to explain.
After I explained it his body language changed directly.
"Go inside your room and lock every window and door. I'll check up on this.", he said and let go of my arm.

What?

"You know this person?", I asked and he shook his head.
"Just go home Meadow.", he said but he wasn't acting right.
After he noticed that I didn't plan to leave, he looked deep into my eyes again.
"Please, just trust me.", he almost begged me.

There was this strange feeling inside of me, which told me to trust him. It was like a feeling of being safe around him.
I just nodded and he thanked me with a soft smile.
So without saying goodbye, I turned around and made my way back home, at this point I just needed to trust Jacob.

His apology was real I felt that, but that doesn't clarify the situation going on in the kitchen. With quick steps, I hastened to get home. When I arrived home, Mom was also at home.
She already fell asleep on our couch and without trying to wake her up I locked every window in our house because it just felt right doing what Jacob has told me.

I started searching for a job through my cellphone.
A part-time job would also be okay for the moment so I decided to search for that kind of jobs.
I found one near Forks, it was in a little Antique shop. I sent my application documents, which I had as a PDF on my mobile phone, to the shop and lay down on my bed.

I didn't notice how quickly I fell asleep and wandered into the land of dreams...
