I promised Jacob not to run away, so I sat on the floor and stared at him in his wolf form with open eyes.
There was no fear in me, but rather a shock. It even reassured me to know that there are werewolves, because that means that vampires were not the strongest.

He was the one we almost ran over with Paul's car!
Paul knew about this too and didn't tell me. What if my Mom also did know?

„That was you...", I said but my voice failed in the middle of the sentence.
He just nodded and tilted his head a bit.
I gathered all my courage to get up and after I managed to do this, I bent slightly forward to caress him.

His fur was so soft!
He also enjoyed every second of this moment I could tell by his tail. It was waving like crazy.

„Jacob, please do what you do to be a human again! I have tons of questions...", I just said with a sigh and kept a distance between us.
He turned over to put his clothes into his mouth and disappeared in the forest.

After a few minutes he came back looking like a human and scratched his ear from behind.
„Does my Mom know about you?", I directly asked and he stopped walking immediately.

„Your Mom, wants to protect you like we all."

He tried to justify what my Mom did and also tried to justify his own actions.

„Protect me? This is how you all protect me?!", I asked angry pointing on my bite mark from Caleb.
I noticed how much I started to hurt him because his look said more than a thousand words.
Does he really think I want to be like this?

„Meadow, you are safe here. Near me.", he said and came closer.
He stroked his hand over my cheek and pinched his eyebrows.
I immediately took a step away from him.

„Than tell me the truth about everything, for example what imprint means!", I noticed how my voice was shaking like crazy. He looked briefly at the floor as if he were looking for the right words. Through his body language, I noticed how unpleasant it was that I addressed this topic. But after all I deserved the truth.

„It's not like love at first sight, really. It's more like... gravity moves... suddenly. It's not the earth holding you here anymore, she does... You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that's a protector, or a lover, or a friend... that's what I feel about you.", he explained and I honestly didn't know what to answer.
After collecting my thoughts together I had the courage to ask him more about this.

„Your feeling's can't be real then, because you only have feelings for me because of this!"

„No Meadow, the universe wouldn't put us two together if it wouldn't be like that anyways. It's just a much stronger bond than normal.", while trying to explain he sighed again.
What I was really asking myself was if Paul is also a werewolf?
Is everybody in La Push a werwolf? Also my Mom?

„Tell me your thoughts, talk to me.", jacob almost begged me for a normal conversation.
„Is my Mom also..."

„No."

Good... I was really afraid.

„Paul is, and he has also imprinted on you. Which is actually not possible. You can't imprint on someone who already has a mate."

Wow, my brain was about to explode. Maybe that would explain why I always trusted Jacob or wanted to be with him or Paul. Does that mean I have to choose one of the two?

I could never hurt anyone of them with my decision and also we don't eben know each other that well.

Jacob noticed how deeply I was immersed in thoughts and stretched out his hand to me. I wanted to take his hand, but I didn't do it. I have to be clear about my thoughts first before giving one of them that kind of attention.

„I need time to process this...", I said while shaking my head slowly.
He nodded.
„I can understand, don't feel compelled to give an answer. For me, it is important that you are doing well.", he said with a soft smile.
There was that feeling again. Trust.
Also my stomach is going crazy, thousands of butterflies which are trying to escape my body.

„Thank you, can we go home?", I asked him and he nodded again. So we made our way home. While we were walking, none of us said anything, but it wasn't unpleasant. Quite the opposite. It was good to walk in complete silence next to someone you feel comfortable with. The smell of fresh rain in the forest made the atmosphere much better. But slowly it got dark and the cold moved with it. When we arrived, Jacob clarified with Sue that I could stay at home.
I thanked Sue for everything and promised her to come back so we can drink coffee together.

After we were at Sue's, Jacob accompanied me home.
„Your Mom is with Billy.", he said and I nodded.
„I know, I don't really want to see her anyways.", I said.

„Your Mom did nothing wrong, she really tried to-„

„Jacob, what she did was wrong! If she would've told me before maybe this wouldn't have happened.", I said angrily while rolling my eyes.
„This bloodsucker would have attacked you anyway.", he said but I didn't want to hear anything about this.
„Whatever, I should take my rest...", I just mumbled.
Actually, I was quite afraid to stay at home alone, but I wanted to rest. I needed distance from Jacob to realize what I really wanted.

„Lock the door and don't go to the door even if it rings," he said, looking seriously into my eyes. I nodded.

A silence followed shortly.

„Thank you, Jacob. For being honest with me today.", I said and he smiled.
„Always."
