chapter 6

Gem ran, fire nipping at her heels. Run, RUN, RUN! She gasped as she fell into the fire. It nipped and buried her skin.

"No. NO!"

"Gem, wake up! Gem, wake up!"

Gem shot up breathing heavily. Fwhip was beside her, KEralis and a very pale Xisuma were at the door.

"Sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry about, my dear. We all have bad nights sometimes."

Their day had started off rough but it had started to turn up. X was preparing for tea with their first forster. Gem wants to see them. The doorbell rang, the twins heard a muted conversation, they ran down stairs and paused as Impulse was standing next to X.

"Impulse!"

He opened his arms as Gem barreled into him.

"You see what I mean now."

"Yes you twat."

Impulse laughed as Gem playfully punched him. They sat together and had tea. It was a nice afternoon, Impulse was about to leave when X all of a sudden got really pale.

"X, sit please you look like you are going to pass out."

Impulse reached out and grabbed Xisuma's arms, stabilizing them. X's legs gave way and he started to fall. Impulse got him to the ground and made him lay down. X finally lost conchas nose.

"Keralis! X has passed out.'

Keralis ran into the room and he immediately melted by Xisuma's side. Keralis pushed the hair off of X's forehead.

"They're running a fever, I am going to take them to bed. If you want to stay feel free, Imp."

Keralis then pulled X into his arms and walked away with X in his arms.

The twins were worried about X. Once he woke up, Impulse left. Gem had locked herself in her room. Her emetophobia made her deathly afraid. She hoped that this wasn't bad. She really hoped. The twins went back down for dinner and it was only Keralis at the table.

"How is X?"

"Asleep. He doesn't like to take care of himself and we have something to tell you, but I better tell you now. He has lung cancer, he has battled different forms of cancers his entire life. We are worried that this might be the one to take him out."

"Does hair need to go to a hospital?"

"Not at the moment I have a list of precautions and if he comes close I will be taking them in."

"Okay can you keep us updated, tomorrow when we are at school."

"Of course."

That night Fwhip was looking up all he could about lung cancer.

"Fwhip stop Dr.Googling it."

"I want to know."

"Then books."

"Tomorrow."

Fwhip went back to his own room around 3. Neither could sleep, Fwhip for the fact that someone he knew was sick, and Gem due to her emetophobia. She had blasting noise in her ears as a result. Gem didn't end up sleeping that night. As the withers walked to school Sausage made a comment on it.

"Gem, did you sleep last night?"

"No, Xisuma is sick and it was triggering my Emetophobia. I was too anxious to sleep."

"Gem you could have gotten me."

"No, it would be better if one of us slept then neither of us."

"Are you sure you don;t want to go home and sleep Gem?"
