CH. 5 : Royal Banquet (2) 🌿

It was the last day, and tonight was the Royal Banquet. Cale had worn the suit Ohn had chosen, an elegant white suit with gold embroidered. Cale's red hair was neatly slicked back, making him look charming. Cale wore black leather gloves to hide the tattoo in his wrist. Cale was still in a bad mood since the encounter yesterday. That night Cale went to the Palace of Joy with Raon only, he did debated should he bring Ron. But dismissed the thought, having a Dragon near him was more than enough.

Cale waited the announcer to announce his name and enter the ballroom. All eyes were on him when he entered the room. Cale scanned the room, looking for a certain man. Cale sighs roughly when he hears Raon's voice in his head, "That bastard is not here, Human." Cale ignored Raon's foul words and walked towards the corner of the ballroom.

He waited until the main character of the banquet came. Not long after that king Zed and Crown Prince Alver entered the ballroom, the King gave his speech and the banquet finally started. Cale saw from the corner of his eyes his hyung-nim was dancing with a red-haired princess. Alver and Rosalyn started the first dance of the night with a classic Waltz. Cale ignored the sight in front of him and walked around the ballroom, but the mysterious man was no where to be found.

Cale hadn't noticed the first dance was over, when he saw Rosalyn walking towards him. He looked to his left and right to see no one, she was walking towards him. Cale bowed in perfect etiquette when she was in front of him, "Good evening, Your Highness." Rosalyn smiled at him sweetly, "Young Master Cale, I told you to just call me Rosalyn." Just like yesterday, Cale just smiled at her. Rosalyn reach her hand out to him, making Cale confused. Cale hesitated but still took her hand, only to be pulled to the dance floor by the red-haired princess. "Dance with me, Young Master Cale." "I don't know how to dance." Cale frowned, he was worried that he will embarrass Rosalyn instead himself, "Don't worry, just follow my lead." Cale sighs in defeat and followed her lead through the dance.

Cale could see from her corner of his eyes the Crown Prince was dancing with the First Princess. Cale ignored them and tried to focus on the woman in front of him, he carefully followed her every step. Rosalyn smiled with mischievous, "I thought you did not care what other will think?" "I don't. I just don't want you to embarrass yourself for dancing with a trash like myself." Rosalyn frowned at Cale for calling himself trash. "You are not trash, Young Master Cale." "...but I am?" Rosalyn sighs, there no way changing his stubborn mind.

When the music ends, Cale sighs in relief. He bowed to Rosalyn and quickly excuse himself to somewhere more private. Cale walked outside to the balcony, he felt the cold breeze on his face and instantly relaxes. He enjoyed the silence of the night, unlike the crowded ballroom. But the silence did not last long. He turned his head to see his hyung-nim. Cale smiled at the blonde prince and bowed his head, "Greetings to the little sun of our great kingdom." Alver's smile twitch a little, "Greetings to you too, Young Master Cale." Alver offered Cale a glass wine which he gladly took. Cale swirled the wine before sipping it down his throat. This was the first wine he had since his regression. It was sweet, just like how he liked it.

They didn’t talk long since people would be looking for the Crown Prince. Before Alver returned to the room, he heard the redhead said in a low voice, “Your Highness, may I see you tomorrow?” Alver raised an eyebrow at him. “I would like to talk about business.” Cale smiled his ‘scammer smile’ at the blonde prince. The prince had an iffy feeling but still nodded his head, “I will send you an invitation.” Cale smiled even brighter and bowed his head as the prince left the balcony. 

Cale sighs as finished his wine glass. He was about to return inside when he felt a burning sensation on his wrist and wince in pain, “Human! What’s wrong? Are you in pain?” Cale quickly look below the balcony to see no one. He quickly turned his head around, just in time to avoid an attack. He had flew off the balcony and use the Sound of the Wind, he did not summon his shield to avoid unnecessary attention. “Human!” Cale saw the man on the Palace roof. Cale and Raon quickly went up the roof and start following the man. He was moving swiftly, jumping from one roof to another.
