𝐈𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝟐 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐅 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐒 into the school year grind and I, Kiri Tsuchigumo, a poor soul from Chiba, am more COOKED—FRIED EVEN THAN TEMPURA. Teiko's a real mind-buster and seriously, who decides that Basketball, Swimming, and Tennis were the only sports worth offering? Get this, fail once, risk getting the boot. Don't even get me started on "Wisdom Wednesdays". A whole day dedicated to only studying. The cherry on top of this bento box of absurdity? A reward for the brainiacs is not only a certificate... but a fucking A5 WAGYU. Teiko must really think that nothing says "SMART'' like a perfect marbled meat.

As I walked through the pristine hallways of Teiko, which screamed "HIGH-END EDUCATION" with their marble floors and polished oak lockers, a man with neatly combed brown hair and round, wire-rimmed glasses approached from the opposite direction. His crisp, white dress shirt and perfectly knotted tie contrasted with his friendly demeanour. He stopped in his tracks, his smile stretching widely across his face, greeting me as if we had been best friends since elementary school.

"Good Morning Tsuchigumo-san!" What's his name again? Fuck. I'm not good at remembering things and hell I don't even know how I got accepted at Teiko after that hell of a written entrance assessment. It has something to do with a sauce and sake, I really don't remember... don't embarrass yourse—

"Sousuke! Hurry, the President's on the prowl for you!" The woman's voice boomed through the classroom door near us, a mix of urgency and glee echoing in her tone,

Yeah, Sousuke. I think he was my seatmate. I then recalled his familiar face from the classroom. I heard he was part of the tennis team. Speaking of them, an earlier announcement mentioned they'll be playing for the Inter High Sports Festival.

As Sousuke approached, his tennis racket slung over his shoulder, I greeted him eagerly. "Hello Sousuke! Good Morning to you too. Make sure to win your tournament today!" My words were accompanied by a genuine smile, hoping to boost his spirits for the match ahead. Sousuke's eyes sparkled with gratitude as he returned the smile. He then ran towards his friend who was waiting by him at the door.

I continued my journey through the halls until I reached my destination, 4-1, my classroom. I swung the door open to a scene of organised chaos much like straight out of a teen high school drama. Damn, they still have a hobby in this rigorous school? Some of my classmates, mixed with boys and girls, were jamming with their instruments at the back of the classroom, others were glued to the whiteboard to review for our upcoming exams, and the rest split between gossiping and studying.
