Chapter 7 - The Deal

Rudbeckia wakes up with tears in her eyes. (What was that?) She wipes the tears away and sits up.

(It must be a memory.... that really hurt. If it was a memory shouldn't I be seeing this through my eyes? Who's eyes was I watching this through?)

(More importantly, I thought Nigel was my father, why did I call Wyatt Dad?)

(And the rest of them, did they raise me together? What about my Mother?)

Ruby sighs with disappointment thinking about the child's behavior. (I was quite a rude Child. Then again it isn't good to leave a child alone on her birthday)

She frustratingly says: "Ugh so many unanswered questions."

"To What." She turns to the left and looks across the room to search for the one who just spoke to her.

There he sits in a chair behind the desk, arms crossed, a dark expression with curiosity in his eyes.

"Did you have a nightmare, Miss?", he says sarcastically. Rudbeckia looks at him disgusted, "Don't call me that!"

He starts to smile. (What is this asshole thinking about?) "I'm sorry where you looking for your Daddy Wyatt?" He says with a cute voice but a tone of sarcasm.

She buries her face in her hands, her cheeks are red from Embarrassment. (He heard that?) "You snore pretty loud." (He is just making this worse!)

Ruby slowly looks up and looks him straight in the eyes. His expression has changed to a serious one, he leans his head into his right hand while placing his elbow on the desk. "So Lennon is your Father?"

(Is it a good thing for him to know this.) Rudbeckia thinks before giving him an answer. „Yeah I think so", she says unsure.

"So this is why I couldn't find anything", he says. She looks at him quietly with a slightly worried expression, he notices her look.

He doesn't want to know what's going on with her but her expression doesn't seem to change so he sighs and says: "Do you have something you want to ask me."

Ruby looks away questioning if it's okay to ask or not. "Is this going to change how you see me", she then asks.

He can feel that she is afraid of his answer so he decides to reassure her that she's safe. "Yes, I'm going to treat you even better now." She quickly looks at him with disbelief.

„I thought you hate Wyatt", Rudbeckia asks confusedly.

He looks at her with a blank expression and says: "I never said I hated him. I'm quite fond of Wyatt. Especially when he's irritated."

(Why did he say that so seriously?) He starts tipping into the PC, Ruby just noticed the pile of Papers, coffee cups, and Pills on his desk.

(It must be a lot of work to be the Head of a Mafia Family....) The sunlight from the windows flashes at him, she's in awe of his beautiful silver hair and golden eyes.

(He's drop-dead gorgeous... I shouldn't get fooled by his beauty, he's sick.....) She stops her inner monologue. Her mind just registered that she didn't even know his Name.

She's not sure if she should ask him or just stay quiet, so she looks at him in silence before getting impatient and asking him anyway.  „What's your Name?", she whispers, no she said it so quietly you could say she thought it.

He immediately stops tipping and looks up at her. (Did he hear me? No no way he did.) „It's Lyle Seymour", he says with a slight smile.

Rudbeckia's cheeks become slightly red. (That smile.... it's the first one that's genuine.) She stares at him and his beautiful smile until she quickly snaps back to reality. (LYLE SEYMOUR! What is one of the Male Leads doing here?!)
