After Miranda left Dr Webber and Ben talked about how he was settling in and how his co-workers were treating him. He had no complains they were all welcoming and friendly. Derek even invited him to meet with some of the guys while they working on his Deck. He felt welcomed and loved the place. Even though Miranda was still taking over his mind he pushed through it and settled well in his office till the day come to end and his shift was over.

A few weeks passed since Ben moved to Seattle and become the new Chief of surgery. He loved that position but sometimes he missed being in surgery it's been long since he touched a scalpel. It was also frustrating with back to back meetings that were long or boring ,with Miranda ignoring him it wasn't making anything easy. Ever since that day they had sex in his office it's like she disappeared into thin air. She made sure to never come across him or walk in a part he was in. But at some point he knew that they needed to talk.
"World to the best dad in the world" his daughters voice brought him back to reality since he was far away mentally. He looked at his little girl who looked like a spiting image of her mother. Sometimes he would sit back watching her sleep and ask himself how did he manage to get over everything and raise her since she looked like Miranda. He couldn't just hate her own daughter because she looked like her mother that run away from their little family.

"I think you aging old man. You keep on zoning out" Milanie said shaking her head trying to hold her laugh knowing her dad hated when she called him old.
"If you weren't my daughter I would have sent you ass to a boarding school" Ben turned his attention to her daughter sipping his coffee since they were having lunch.
"Well I am your favorite daughter you can't get rid of me that easily daddy." She smiling eating her BBQ burger.
"That's because you are my only daughter. Anyways tell me how's school and how are you liking Seattle??" He asked her forever smiling daughter flashing her dimples.
"Ohh Seattle is great daddy I like the weather since you know I like rainy days, it has everything I ever dreamed off. It's refreshing from New York and it's many people. People are friendly here and ohh I also made some friends at school. Daddy I....hey why you laughing?" Milanie asked her father who was laughing at her talking.

" Slow down big girl. I tell you everytime to relax when you talk right??"
"I know daddy I just want to say it all before I forget but it's fine. How are you liking your new job old man?"
"Stop it with 'old man' am not that old at all. It's a great hospital with friendly and amazing people. I feel like I have a family in some of them. I also made some friends who I chill with after some long day." Ben told her daughter. He still hasn't told her about meeting Miranda. He just didn't know how she would react to this whole thing.

"That's great daddy. And I also have some confession to make" she said looking down fiddling with her fingers to avoid her father's eyes. Ben knew it must be something bad or nerve cracking when she started messing up with her fingers. She gets that from Miranda she would do that when she was sometimes nervous or angry.
"What is it Lanie? You know you can tell you dad everything. Ohh god did you..mhhh..uhm start on your lady days...?" Ben asked her daughter who scrunched her face then busted into laughter looking at her father.
"No dad.! Ewe....and they are called periods you are a physician say it Periods not lady days. Anyways so I did some research on the hospital you working on and I found out that Mo...I mean there is Dr MIRANDA BAILEY who looks exactly like the photos of mom" she stated sipping her juice looking at her father through the glass.

Clearing his throat Ben looked at her Milanie and asked. "Why were you doing research on that hospital Lanie??"
"Because of some school project I was doing daddy. Am sorry if I over stepped. I was doing research on general surgeons here in Seattle and since you know your hospital is no 1 she popped up on it and they were talking about how amazing she is since her intern years... Am sorry daddy" she told her father adjusting her glasses and picking up her fork to continue eating. Ben sighted letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. At some point he knew her daughter would find out she was too smart for her age and he blamed Miranda's genes there she's always been smart.
"You didn't over step Lanie. Yes she works where I work and before you ask me yes I have seen her"  a smile creeped up on Milanie's face. That's exactly what she wanted to know. Maybe moving to Seattle wasn't a bad idea she will get a chance to meet her mother finally.

"So how's she?? Does she know about me?? What did she say about me and you of course" she asked now eagerly wanting to know everything.
"She's good .still beautiful as ever like you. Yes she knows about you she's the one who gave birth to you. And she didn't say anything. I tried talking to her but she seems not interested in talking to us me or you. She has a whole other family and I doubt she will leave it for us" He had to say it and not hide anything to her daughter. It's what kept them close to their daddy and daughter relationship. They share everything about each other's lives.
He saw her smiling disappear and sadness appeared on her face. Her beautiful face was now hurt and he knew she was holding back tears.
"She...she doesn't want me right?? That's why she left me with you right dad?" She questioned. All her life she spent it asking herself why she would leave her and now it confirmed everything she doesn't want her.

Ben was about to answer her but she held her hand up not in a disrespectful way to silence him but she wanted to have this moment. "I know what you going to say daddy. She loves me and she doesn't stop thinking about me everytime she gets. I know and am fine with it. I got you and have always got you. You are more like a mother than father to me and thank you daddy for staying with me. I am full now can you take me to grandmama's house I left some stuff when you were working night shifts " Ben could hear the sadness and disappointment in his daughters voice and she was going there because she didn't want to face him knowing he will console her the whole night. They continued eating in silent then ordered take out leaving the place that has grown to be their favorite spot within a week of arriving.

Miranda stood in one of her favorite patients room after a successful surgery. The old woman has been her patient since her intern year due to organ failures and today she got some of the organs to keep her until God decide he misses the woman. Watching the woman and her daughters bonding made her mind to go back to her daughter that she left with her ex boyfriend in the rain while she was only 3 months old. She wondered how she was , if she knows about her and what she did? If she was tall like her father or short like her. All of this made her want to tear up. Maybe she should stop avoiding Ben and have the talk that she new she had to have with him. But then she thought back to her current husband. He was sweet, loving and caring. He has always wanted more kids but due to Miranda taking to long to fall pregnant they just made peace with it.

She wondered if he would accept a child that was hers but not his. He was a good man with good reputation. A paster on weekends and great accounted during week days. He's been nothing but supportive towards her wife and her dreams, towards their family. He always preaches about these things and she wondered how he would look at her if he ever finds out what she did. Lost in her thoughts leaving the patients room she bumped into Meredith.
"Watch were you going Grey stop running like kids in a park" she scolded one of her intern's.
"Am so sorry Dr Bailey. Actually I was looking for you. You know this weekend is Derek's birthday I was planning some kind of surprise for him and I would like you to be there. Would you like to come??" She asked nervous rambling around.
"Will there be bourbon in that party of yours grey?" She asked her walking towards the elevator.

"Yes Dr Bailey I can get one for you special." The intern smiled at her.
"Okay great I will be there...wait who else's going to be there??"
"Just my friends and Derek's friends other doctors and nurses too" she said.
"Mhh okay I will be there you tell me the time and remind me though couse I might forget" she stated entering the elevator leaving the intern there nodding and turning away to head to wherever she was going.
