Goku groans in slight annoyance as he watches the kids throw a fit, not wanting to perform the fusion dance as they deem it uncool.

Right as Goku was about to explain to them its importance, somebody began speaking to Goku in his mind, that person was Shin, the Supreme Kai.

"Goku? It's me, Shin." Shin says in a calm yet slightly nervous tone, as Goku did kill him after all.

Goku tilts his head as he speaks in his mind. "Shin? What do you need?"

Shin sighed, a bit relieved that Goku wasn't as hostile as he had been the last time they met. "I noticed you showing the children the fusion dance, and they can't seem to get the hang of it... I might have a solution. Albeit a bit drastic"

Goku's eyes widen as he speaks. "Please tell me, Shin, if you can get them to learn the fusion, it'd be amazing!"

Shin speaks once more after a brief pause. "Well, I can't teach them the metamoran fusion, but, I have another way, you see, the earrings that the kai's wear are capable of fusion two individual beings when placed in opposite ears. This is also the same case for two mortals, the only problem being that once fused, the two may never be unfused unless an external magical force were to rupture the fusion..."

Goku gulps at the information as he speaks. "Alright... that does sound a bit drastic, but, it might be the only way... hopefully we can solve that issue with the Dragon Balls..."

Shin nods, speaking softly. "Hopefully... I'll come to your location with my earrings, make sure not to lose them."

Goku nodded, and suddenly the Kaioshin was in front of him, holding a pair of yellow earrings out, a bean of sweat rolling down his cheek.

Goku took them, giving another slight nod, before turning to the kids. "Goten, Trunks, catch!"

Goten and Trunks catch the earrings, a bit confused as they look up at Goku. "Alright boys, listen to me very carefully, keep these earrings close, always ready to be put on, it's crucial to the plan."

Piccolo looks at Goku, shouting at him slightly, sweating a bit. "Goku! Now is not the time for gifts!"

Goku turns to Piccolo, speaking calmly. "They are not gifts, if they put the earrings in, they'll fuse... our main objective is to train them to be as strong as possible in this last day, alright?"

Piccolo is shocked, gulping before nodding as he uncrossed his arms, ready to train the boys. Goku then points to the time chamber. "Enter the room of Spirit and time, Piccolo, I won't have enough time left to do much anyways-"

Right as Goku finishes talking, Baba speaks. "Time is up, come on Goku." Goku nods, walking to Baba and returning to the otherworld.

Piccolo, not one to waste time, signals the boys to enter the time chamber.

After entering, Piccolo begins training them.

Instead of using this time to learn the fusion, they use it to train with Piccolo, who manages to boost their strength a bit more thanks to their potential.
