There's a gun pointed at my head. If I had known what would happen if I continued digging into this hole, I would've stopped.

I laughed.

I sat there, numb and lost, my memories, despite mixed, came rushing. The files—Lindsey's case files. I had seen them so many times, trying to understand her trauma, trying to help her heal. But now, something stood out in my mind.

Lindsey's picture. There had been no photograph attached to her file.

Her features description didn't match her.

They matched me.

"Hahaha . . ." My small chuckle turned into a loud laugh.

My laugh echoed through the forest. A lifeless body in front of me. A gun in my hand.

I gripped my face.

My laugh turned into cries.

"I--huh?" My forehead furrowed, looking at the woman in front of me.

"W-Who are you?!" I panicked and moved away.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!"

My body had an automatic response. But I couldn't think straight. I thought I was pointing her the gun, I only noticed that I didn't move it from my head when I pulled the trigger.
