STEP! STEP! STEP!
"Argghh!"
Jill quickly glanced behind her shoulder, before quickly turning back to focus on where she was going. The image of a hoard of zombies chasing her still fresh in her mind, reminding her of what would happen to her if they get her.
STEP! STEP! STEP!
She took a sharp turn in between the narrow bricked buildings to see more dumpsters, trash, and abandoned buildings with boarded windows. Her blue eyes quickly caught onto a pile of pallets off to the side with old furniture stacked on top.
She reached her hand out and—
CRASH!
"Argh..!"
She turned behind her again to see it slowed them down, but the sound of the stuff falling might attract even more of those creatures.
"Great..." She mumbled bitterly.
Just keep going...
Keep running!
Yet the ache in her legs and feet didn't want to cooperate. She breathed heavily as her throat felt dry and her chest stung in pain. A nice glass of water sounds good right about now.
Jill kept running and running. Trying to discern any openings that could help her get out of this fucked situation. If she keeps running, eventually they'll just catch her. She needs to find a place that would at least make it difficult for them to get to her, something, anything!
As if god heard her prayers, a dingy old building came into view. It looked to be the largest building around her. Graffiti and boarded windows and doors covered the building, it looked like a typical abandoned building.
Yet a small window stood out on the bottom to what looked to be the basement. It was broken and looked small, Jill didn't know if she could squeeze through or not.
This may just be my best option.. Jill sped up her running and once she got close enough, she dove to the muddy and dirty floor. Broken shards of glass and the hard ground cutting and scraping at her arms and stomach. She slide perfectly up to the window, grabbed onto the frame of the window from the inside and began to pull herself in.
Sucking in her stomach and stretching out her body as much as she could to squeeze herself in.
STEP! STEP! STEP!
The sounds of the walkers following grew stronger as they came close and closer. Making Jill bite at her lip and just forcibly squeeze herself in. Pulling herself in as hard as she could, the broken window cutting at her sides until eventually she was practically in.
"Fuck..." Jill sighed deeply. Her hands searching through the completely dark room yet all she could feel was the wall she practically hung from.
"Argghg!" She felt a skeleton like hand grab at her shoe. Jill jumped and instinctively kicked it away—
Thump!
"Ack!"
Causing her to lose her balance and fall to the hard concrete floor. She quickly looked up at the window she crawled from and saw the walkers quickly lose interest as they began to separate.
"Haah.." Jill was finally able to catch her breath, "...Shit.."
She leaned back and sprawled herself on the concrete floor. Not caring for the dirt or grime on her body, instead she just wanted to save this brief moment of silence after that close call.
She stared up at the ceiling, yet she couldn't see anything with how dark the room was. She reached to her pocket and pulled out her phone— that is somehow not broken— to check if there's any word from HQ.
