"Have you heard? They're sending (Y/N) on a mission."

"A mission? (Y/N) isn't an agent though?"

"Yeah, but I heard she has to go collect some files from one of our partnering groups!"

"Why can't they just send one of the agents to do it?"

"Becau—"

Smack!

The supervisor quickly slapped his hand on the two individuals desk, giving them a stern look. "Quick gossiping and go back to work!"

"S-Sorry.."
"Sorry.."

"We have an apocalypse to deal with on our hands and you wanna be yapping about some stupid mission?!"

"Yes sir.."
"Yes sir.."

and just like the two employees gossiped about, it was all true.

It's been about a week since your encounter with Jill, and since then you've been swamped with paperwork. Not just paperwork for the agents you manage, but also because of the sudden spread of a virus in a partnering agency.

There was a hideout at the outskirts of town, right where the undead people and creatures lurk around the most. It was a secret hideout filled with highly skilled and trained soldiers and computer nerds, it was a hideout specifically meant to be the eyes and ears of areas that not even they could reach.

Not so skilled or highly trained if there all dead now..

Part of the reason why the could never install cameras and such in the first place, was because they were always quickly found and destroyed by either gangs/zombies/etc. or in the midst of chaos.

It was the perfect hideout, the people were stable and had enough supplies with food, hygiene, and protection to last them about a year out there. It was disguised as an abandoned church, and was sealed off by gates and such.

Until recently, you and the supervisor of the hideout were in discussing the details of implementing a new hideout even further from the city to gain more insight of what was going on. The workers at the hideout gathered intel for months on end, intel that was bound to be crucial. It had the beginning plans for the new hideout, a map of the sewer system where the new hideout would be made, and the results of a few experiments they conducted while spending their time there. Crucial intel that was bound to give them a leap.

But suddenly the communication from HQ and the hideout went dead, and they later on learned that the hideout was raided by zombies and monsters. All the soldiers and workers were killed, but they are sure the intel is still safely hidden in their hideout.

And since i'm the one that's been in contact with them the most..

You looked at yourself in the mirror, wearing nothing but protective gear and such instead of your regular uniform.

I have to be the one to find it..

You were currently inside the locker room where agents normally used to get ready for their dangerous missions where they may or may not come back alive.

And yet here you were.

You never thought you'd have to see the day where you get ready in this locker room, wear these kind of clothes, or having such a large gun in your hands. Because this was the agents job, never yours.

You were the assistant, the girl who sat at her desk all day and typed/clicked away till her hands cramped. The one who tracked the agents, gave them directions, told them of the dangers ahead, and send out the choppers or card to pick them up once they completed the mission. The eyes and ears through the sky.
