It has been five days since Ryder locked me here. He would only let me out if I wanted to bathe, eat, or if he wanted me to follow him to his office. I lost all sense of hope knowing I would be here forever. I was just laying in my cold cell when I heard footsteps. Light footsteps.
"Who's there?" I asked.

"I'm Grace. We have to get out of here." She declared as she walked into the light where I could see her face. But, get out? Ryder will still find me and punish me.

"N-no I can't leave this place" I whispered back

Grace's eyes locked onto mine, filled with a determination that gave me hope. "Aurora, I'm here to get you out of this place. Ryder's men won't know what hit them."

I hesitated, unsure if I could trust her. But something in her voice resonated with me. She seemed different from Ryder's men, her words laced with a sincerity that put me at ease.

"Okay," I whispered, my heart racing with anticipation.

Grace smiled, her eyes gleaming with a plan. "Follow me."

We crept through the dark corridors, avoiding Ryder's men. Grace moved with a confidence that impressed me, her knowledge of the mansion uncanny.

We reached a hidden door, and Grace pushed it open. A car waited outside, its engine purring softly.

"Get in," Grace whispered, her eyes scanning the surroundings.

I obeyed, my heart pounding in my chest. As we drove away from the mansion, I felt a sense of freedom I hadn't experienced in months.

But as we sped through the night, I began to feel a nagging sense of unease. Where were we going? And why did Grace seem so familiar with Ryder's rivals?

"Grace," I asked, my voice barely audible. "Where are we going?"

Grace's smile was reassuring. "Somewhere safe, Aurora. Somewhere you'll be free."

But as I looked into her eyes, I saw a glimmer of something else. Something that made my heart sink.

We weren't going to freedom. We were going to another prison.

As we drove through the night, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Grace's words were reassuring, but her eyes told a different story.

We finally arrived at a large estate, surrounded by high walls and security gates. Grace led me inside, where a group of people waited for us.

"Aurora, this is the Resistance," Grace explained, her voice filled with pride.

I looked around, unsure what to believe. They seemed genuine, but I had been deceived before.

"Welcome, Aurora," one of them said, a tall man with a kind smile. "We'll keep you safe here."

But as I looked into his eyes, I saw the same glimmer I had seen in Grace's. They were hiding something.

And then, it hit me. The truth.

"Grace," I whispered, my voice trembling. "You're not who you say you are, are you?"

Grace's smile faltered, and for a moment, I saw the real her. The one who had been playing me all along.

"Aurora," she said, her voice dripping with deceit. "You're not a prisoner here. You're a guest."

But I knew the truth. I was trapped, once again. And this time, I had no idea how to escape.
