As Shreya and Tara approached the expansive dining table, they found nearly everyone already seated, with the exception of Kabir. The table exuded an air of grandeur, its vastness accommodating only the Oberois and Rajputs.
Taking her place beside Avni, Shreya couldn't help but marvel at the setting, though she remained unaware of Avni's connection to Kabir. Avni greeted her warmly, addressing her as "Hey Di."
"Hello," Shreya replied, her voice tinged with a touch of uncertainty. She hadn't anticipated immediate introductions.
Avni, sensing Shreya's hesitation, kindly introduced herself. "I'm Avni Rajput, Kabir bhai's sister," she explained, her smile putting Shreya at ease.
Relieved by Avni's openness, Shreya reciprocated the introduction. "It's nice to meet you, Avni. I'm Shreya Oberoi," she replied, feeling more comfortable as their conversation flowed.
As Kabir finally joined them, Shreya found herself seated beside him due to the limited space. Engrossed in their discussion, Shreya and Avni barely noticed his arrival.
As dinner commenced, the servants began serving the array of dishes. Kabir, known for his health-conscious habits, opted for vegetables, while Shreya indulged in a variety of foods. Amidst the elders' discussions, Abhinav and Nikhil entertained Reyansh with their antics, while Tara and Meera engaged in conversation with their husbands.
Shreya and Avni continued chatting, but Avni was interrupted by a phone call, excusing herself momentarily. Shreya took the opportunity to address Kabir, surprised by his presence.
"You were here?" she inquired, to which Kabir simply nodded, focused on his stir-fried vegetables.
"God, you eat these things here too?" Shreya remarked, wrinkling her nose in distaste.
"They're healthy, unlike what you're eating," Kabir retorted calmly.
"Excuse me?" Shreya exclaimed; her irritation evident.
"Excuse You" Kabir said.
"You little piece of-" Shreya was about to say more when Kabir interrupted her.
"Watch your mouth; we're at a family dinner," Kabir reminded her sternly.
"Watch your mouth," Shreya mimicked, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. It wasn't entirely her fault; she was dealing with menstrual discomfort, affecting her mood.
As dinner concluded, they bid each other farewell, the evening coming to a close amidst a mix of conversations and emotions.
