As I pulled up at my bookstore, I parked my bike in my usual spot and headed inside, seeing my newest employer Claire was struggling. Claire was among 15 other employees I have working for me. Here are my book store, I reacted quickly and began helping her. Two other of my employees walked in Symon and Zeke walk in.
Claire was 5 foot 6 in height with short brown curly hair, a round face, gorgeous blue eyes, and always wore a skirt, stocking, and a blazer to work. Symon was 5 foot 7 in height with medium length brown hair, stubble on his face, he also had brown eyes. Zeke was 5 foot 8 in height with black hair and dark blue eyes that were almost grey.
Bending down, I helped Claire at the desk to finalise a customers order, "So when we finalise a customers order that we had to order in, just click this button here and scan the books."
The beeping sound was heard, and I showed Claire how to make a note in the system as well that it had been picked up. Claire finished with the customer, thanking the customer before turning to me.
Symon and Zeke walked up, asking for what they needed to do, I assigned Zeke to help Claire while Symon was to fill and face the shelves. The two of them nodded and began their tasks I had set out for them
"Thank you.." Claire said, cutting herself off as my older brother Tristian walked in. "Who is that?" She asked.
Tristian was 5 foot 9, and he had short dark brown hair and hazel eyes. His body was covered in tattoos, and he always wore a tank top with his Devil Jesters leather jacket and his famous grey jeans.
"That's my brother," I replied before walking over to Tristian.
"Hey, Tris," April greeted him with a warm smile, setting aside the task at hand.
Tristian nodded in response, his gaze scanning the shelves of books before settling on me. "What's up, little sis?"
I had asked my older brother to meet me here as I know that what we were about to discuss was going to be hard on him and me. My childhood was anything but simple or great. I was the youngest 6 siblings, and our mother was an alocholic. I was the face of my mothers wrath. My mother would constantly abuse me or exploit me whenever she could. Trisitan did his best to help me and protect me, but she always managed to harm me in some way.
Tristian ended up leaving with me when he was 18 and joined a motorcycle club in Hunter Valley where he did his best to keep me safe, but my trauma always stuck with me. My childhood had left me with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. A few years after we moved here, I started falling for Luca, who is Tristian's boss. Luca knew of my trauma and became by safe haven if Tristian wasn't there.
Luca and I started dating a year and a half ago. He honestly makes me so happy and safe. He does anything he can to keep me safe and feel safe, especially at his motorcycle club, as a lot of randoms stop by for a drink.
"Clarie, you can go on your break for an hour if you would like," I said, noticing Claire hadn't gone on her break yet.
"Oh, thank you," Claire said before waving to Zeke and headed out the back.
I pulled Tristian over to a corner of the room so we could talk alone. I began to play with my hair, one of my many nervous habits. Our sister Renee had messaged me the other day in seeing Mum for her birthday with our other siblings Scott, Skylar, and Andrew. They were waiting for our answer. Part of me wanted to go, but another part of me didn't want to face the trauma.
Leaning against a book shelf, I looked at Tristian who was still waiting for me to talk, taking a deep breath, "So, Renee, Skylar, Scott and Andrew were thinking of seeing mum for her birthday."
