HONK HONK

I can hear Louise's impatience as she blasts her horn to hurry me up for the fifth time.

"GIVE ME A MINUTE, I'M COMING!" I yell out to her, shoving my feet into some worn-out sneakers and grabbing my bag as I rush out the door to a very impatient Louise in a car I've considered 'borrowing' from her many times. If she keeps up the snarky comments I might just follow through...

"Took you long enough," Louise remarks, barely waiting for me to close the door before she speeds off fast enough to make my stomach flip. Okay, so maybe I shouldn't have made her wait...

"It took you like five seconds to get annoyed," I mutter, rolling my eyes and grabbing the safety handle just in case. I feel the car speed up even more and turn to see Louise with a mad, Cruella de Vil-like look in her eyes. I can totally picture her hunched over the steering wheel in a similar way.

"Whatever, we're all gonna get ready at mine since my parents aren't home, the others are already there." Louise finally decides to slow down to a speed where my life feels less at risk as we near her manor of a house.

"Oh thank fuck, I thought I was gonna die," I pant as I collapse out of that death trap of a car, no actually, that's blaming the poor car instead of the maniac driver.

"Don't be so dramatic, I'm a great driver," Louise scoffs and walks away from me.

"I could've died! You hit the curb at least three times, I almost yakked with how much you were swerving!" I call out as I run after her.

Louise doesn't say anything, opting to stick her middle finger behind her back without looking at me. Yeah, feeling the love Lou.

"MARCIE!" Maia screams, running out the door and suffocating me.

"Can't breathe," I choke out exaggeratedly. She lets me go and gives me a playful shove before grabbing my wrist and dragging me past an unimpressed Louise inside the mano- I mean house.

"Don't worry, we saved enough for you." Maia leads me up the carpeted stairs, which by the way, are very fancy looking, down a hallway into what I assume to be Louise's room where Alex and Jasmine are sitting by a large floor-to-ceiling mirror getting themselves ready, more than a couple empty cans beside them.

"Hey Marcie, decided to finally show up aye?" Alex remarks, drawing a small black wing on one of her eyes.

"Oh shush, I'm not that late."

"Sure you aren't, now hurry up and get ready, we're leaving in half an hour and I don't trust your time management skills," Maia hurries me. Since when was I the slow one? Rude.

I chuckle a bit before joining Jasmine, Alex, Maia, and Louise, who apparently followed us upstairs with spy-like stealth, on the floor by the mirror to fix up my makeup and hair as if it won't be a complete trainwreck by the night's end.

"Here, try to catch up," Maya teases as she passes me a drink which I chug back quickly.

I hear a cheer from Alex and Maya and I smirk to myself a little bit. I have a good feeling about tonight.

"Why do we have to walk," I complain bitterly, mildly drunk after a few too many drinks to be considered pres.

"Because I refuse to have any puke in my car, and the people at our schools are little shits who would totally try to steal a car as perfect as mine," Louise reminds me, grabbing my arm to pull me into walking faster while muttering something about her 'precious baby.' Call me crazy but I don't think she's talking about me. I swear she would sell herself over that damn car.
