I take a deep breath before walking into the classroom and taking my usual seat next to Jasmine, the absence of our teacher is no great shock to me.

However, what is a surprise is the absence of a certain caveman. Where is he?

I look around the class and spot Cam and Mack sitting at the back, glancing up at me before returning to their too-quiet-to-eavesdrop conversation.

His lackeys are here, so where's the big cheese?

Who even came up with that? The big cheese? Surely there's a better name like... I don't know, The big man?

No... not that, that's... no.

Both Cam and Mack appear unusually on edge compared to their regular more easy going demeanours, maybe Gray's throwing a temper tantrum? I can picture him throwing lockers around.

No, surely he'd be here to... tell me off? I don't know, whatever that thing is that he does where he gets all teasing and hot and starts to tell me off in a way that feels like he wants to do so much more than that... nope! Not going there again.

It is unusual though, I'm honestly surprised he hasn't burst through the classroom door, ready to follow through on his mysterious threat.

Something about me not liking what will happen if I go hang around with other guys.

I'm mid conversation with Jasmine when the cretin finally decides to grace us with his presence, walking in looking way too calm considering Cam almost certainly tattled on me.

Shockingly, (not) Gray sits directly behind me, leaning back in his chair like the delinquent he is.

And now we wait.

Moments later, I feel a persistent poking on my shoulder and internally sigh, turning around with an unamused expression. What an immature child.

"Yes?" I snap, raising my eyebrows. My nerves making me inpatient.

Well, more inpatient that usual.

"You really couldn't think of a more subtle place, Princess?" Gray chuckles, looking amused for some reason. Why isn't he angry? Please just be angry, this is freaking me out!

"I don't know what you're talking about, Gray," I reply with false innocence.

"No? Because a little birdie told me that someone has a thing for empty hallways where anyone could find them. Though maybe that was on purpose... trying to make jealous darling?" He ponders with a smirk.

"Don't be so conceited," I scoff before turning back around.

"You're playing a dangerous game Marcie," he murmurs.

I roll my eyes at Jasmine before loudly humming 'Toxic' by Britney Spears. I can almost feel the entertained expression Gray's wearing, but he leaves me alone for the rest of class.

The teacher never shows.

Since it's Monday and the universe hates me, I have double geometry with my two most favourite people in the world next.

Oh Joy!

I let out a loud groan when the bell rings, and stomp off to my doom with a pout, carrying all the elegance and maturity of an angry toddler.

Mr. Miller pays me no notice as I walk in, on time for once. I take a seat near the back of the class, taking out my book with a defeated sigh. I hate geometry with my entire being. Actually no scratch that, I need to save some of that for Gray.
