Another Wednesday. My weekend had been so good and I've been so busy after that that I forgot about the threats I have been receiving. Today, I am fully aware of my surroundings waiting for the clock to hit 8. It's 7:30 p.m. right now I have already prepared dinner for myself.

I am casually scrolling through my phone sitting on the sofa when I hear the doorbell ring.
'Wait', I shout as I get up from the sofa straighten my clothes and make my way towards the main door.
I open the door and see a man in a black suit standing with a box in his hands which was wrapped in a brown paper and a large bouquet of lily kept above the box.

'Hello Ma'am, Mr. Singh asked me to give you these', he says forwarding it all towards me.
'Oh thank you', I smile at him and take the box and the bouquet in my arms. Just as he moves from the entrance I kick the door shut.

I keep everything on the table and my eyes unawarely come across the clock on the wall.
8:30 p.m. it said.
Shit!
I missed it.

I slump my body into the ground and my head falls into my hands. After what felt like an eternity I decide to get up but as soon as I get up a nasty smell hits my nostrils. It smelt like a burning plastic. The adrenaline kicks in and I rush towards my bedroom. And my breath quickens at the sight. The polaroids, the memories of our first date which I kept in the drawer of my table were gone, they were burning.

I immediately run towards my bathroom and I fill up the mug with water carry it all the way towards the table and pouring it. The fire was gone but the smell stayed. Without knowing a single drop of tear fell from my right eye. I don't know who can do all this. Nobody knew I was going on a date or something.

I clean everything throwing the ashes in the trash and enter the living room. I didn't feel like eating so instead I call him. The bell rings for a few minutes and he picked up.

'Hey, how are you?', I hear him. He sounds happy because I told him that if anything happens I'll call him by 8:30 but now it's almost 9:30 and I called him but something still happened. I try not to cry but my lips were trembling so hard.

'Nishant', His name falls from my lips in nothing more than a whisper. 'Wait, where are you?', I hear his voice now all alert.
'Home'.

'Stay, ok. I'll be there in few', He says and cuts the call. I don't expect him to be here in less than 20 minutes, so, I wait. I wait for him reassure me that everything will be okay. I wait for him to hold me tight. I've never felt this broken or sad before. I never expected something like this to happen to me.

After 20 minutes I hear the doorbell ring.

I open the door and I'm immediately engulfed in a tight hug. He holds me reassuring me that everything is okay. He is still holding me while he moves inside and closes the door. He seats me down on the sofa and brings me a glass of water.

I gulp down the water in one go and at that moment I realised that I've not drank water in last two hours which is too much for me.

'Okay, did you eat something?', he asks me as he sits beside me. 'No'.
'Why?'
'I don't want to'.
'You'll have too'.
'Nishant, please', I look at him tears welling up in my eyes.

'Okay fine', he sighs in defeat. 'Let's get you to bed then'. I nod and hold the hand that he offered. We enter my bedroom and my eyes immediately move towards the desk but instead I move towards the bathroom to freshen up.
