Seated on the rather luxurious bed, Bubai allowed his eyes to traverse the confines of his new prison - a small square cabin devoid of any windows.
The sole furnishings comprised of the wooden bed he sat on, layered with a soft, wool blanket, and a circular wooden table that appeared almost melded with the very ground it rested upon.
The room's illumination emanated solely from the lantern suspended on the wall by the door, casting a soft, reddish glow that defied the conventional flicker of normal fire.
Bubai's gaze fixated on the solitary door of this prison - an unpretentious wooden barrier. It wasn't even locked.
Still, despite his inherent strength, Bubai refrained from attempting an audacious escape, fully aware that he couldn't deal with the female guard stationed beyond that door.
Xiao Lan. A former inner disciple of the Cloud Sword Sect. That was at least a Foundation Establishment cultivator!
Under the full-time surveillance of this vigilant, aloof woman, escaping was almost an impossible mission for Bubai.
"It seems I'll have to resort to some clever methods."
However, the shrewdness required to outsmart a Foundation Establishment cultivator was too high. The wisdom of the sages held true - all schemes will fail in the face of absolute strength.
For Bubai, a Foundation Establishment cultivator could already be considered in the caliber of absolute strength, let alone a Golden Core.
He wasn't a genius or godly existence. He lacked the foresight of a divine mind capable of planning thousands of steps ahead and even predicting the future.
If anyone told him to fight a god at this moment, Bubai's mind can only draw a blank.
Basically, it was impossible for him to come up with an elaborate scheme with no loopholes, especially within a short time.
So, Bubai discarded the risky idea of using complicated plans and tricks. The more steps in the process, the more likely he would trip up and fail.
"Break things down, take one step at a time."
He had insufficient knowledge regarding his circumstances, and it was difficult to make any plans without gathering enough intel.
He had to understand his circumstances before formulating any concrete strategy, and being stuck in here certainly won't help him achieve his goal. "So, let's start with getting out of this room."
As for what trick to use to get him out...
How about the most common, old-school bathroom trick?
As a seemingly ordinary mortal on the surface, the notion of requiring a restroom break seemed reasonable, especially given the absence of such facilities in his small prison.
"Yes, why not give it a try?" While the Golden Core was distracted by WeiWei and probably wasn't paying careful attention with his spiritual senses, it presented an opportune window!
He can exploit this 'restroom' opportunity to explore the boat under the of guise of being 'lost', and maybe, he could have 'chance' encounters with the other sisters on board.
Chatting with them, he could perhaps wheedle out some valuable information about their route and shed light on his predicament. And...
His senses delved into his tightly packed spatial storage, locating the strange parachute-like package he bought from the 'Heavenly Path' shop.
He originally felt he was cheated, but now he felt fortunate he had made the purchase in the end. Though he wasn't falling off a cliff, jumping off a sky boat wasn't much different, danger-wise.
Now, with this parachute, if he sees the opportunity, he could just jump off the boat and skydive!
As long as he the Golden Core cultivator had a lapse of attention and didn't pluck him back up, he would luck out and sign out.
As for whether he could make it to that point and how he could escape the eyes of the Foundation Establishment, maybe he could somehow convince the Foundation Establishment guard sister to escape with him?
After mentally reviewing the plan, Bubai decisively rose to his feet. He made his way to the door and swung it open, revealing the narrow corridor beyond. As he prepared to step out- Shing.
The blade of a sword, partially unsheathed from its scabbard, blocked his path. Oh, it was his sword.
Bubai's eyes followed the sword's blade, tracing it to the right, where it was held firmly in the fair, white hand of Xiao Lan. The grip offered a glimpse into her experience with a sword.
Lifting his gaze, Bubai met Xiao Lan's emotionless face, her glassy blue eyes silently fixed on him. For a brief moment, he found himself captivated as he observed her enchanting features up close.
Like WeiWei, Xiao Lan's face possessed a well-defined beauty, but there was a higher maturity in her visage. Her tall nose also accentuated an inherent aloofness that seemed ingrained in her bones.
However, Bubai couldn't help but notice her faintly purplish lips, uncertain if it was a natural trait or a sign of poisoning.
Confronted by Bubai's impolite scrutiny, Xiao Lan coolly returned his gaze, her attractive and mature voice commanding in an emotionless tone, "Stay inside obediently if there's nothing."
Her words snapped Bubai out of his trance, and he awkwardly smiled as he slyly pushed away the sword blocking his path with a finger. "Er, Big sister Lan Lan, there's no need to be so cold. I just need to use the restroom."
Xiao Lan fell silent, offering no response to Bubai's words. Her gaze seemed to scrutinize his less-than-pleasant visage but remained impassive.
After a moment of silence, just as Bubai was about to proceed, the sword that he had pushed aside swiftly blocked his way again. Twitching his lip, Bubai couldn't help but complain as he looked at her, "Can't I even go to the toilet?"
Xiao Lan's glassy eyes stared at Bubai, her voice like ice water, slightly numbing as it reached his ears. "The toilet is in your room."
Blinking in disbelief, Bubai stared back at his room, noticing no door leading to a bathroom. Turning to face Xiao Lan again, he questioned, "There's not even a wash bin in here, are you sure?"
Xiao Lan's expression seemed to show a hint of hesitation, but eventually, she bit her lips, her tone filled with a cold emptiness. "Yes."
Pondering for a moment, Bubai glanced back at the room, finally directing his gaze under his wooden bed. Could there be something hidden there? If so, the restroom plan would have to be shelved.
With hesitant steps, he approached the bed, getting down on his knee and bending over to check underneath. "Uh, nothing?" Bubai got up, turning around with suspicion. "There's nothing-"
His words paused as he saw Xiao Lan standing in his room, setting her sword against the shut door behind her. "Uh, you..."
Ignoring Bubai's confusion, Xiao Lan's bare, delicate feet walked across the cold, hard-planked floor with soundless steps. Stopping in front of him, she came face to face with Bubai.
After staring emotionlessly into his eyes, she, in a methodical motion, undid her sash, letting her silky robe slip off and fall to the ground...
Bubai awakened from his daze, prompting him to utter, "Wait, stop! What are you-"
Xiao Lan looked up at him coldly, interrupting his protest. "You said you need to go to the toilet."
Bubai, still a bit perplexed, managed to mumble, "Then you-"
Xiao Lan lowered her head, and calmly replied in an emotionless voice. "From now on, I am your toilet."
