Summary: Ashlyn tried to find answers to whether her guess was right. Mr. Mazzara assigned a project to his class. Gina tried to help her friend but instead, she might get tangled up in a secret.

Notes: Here is chapter 7. So, this is the first time Joe Jack will be part of the story, I had mentioned him before in one of Ashlyn's dreams. This is a bit of a filler but it still has a plot that I wish you guys find a bit entertaining.

As soon as Maddox had gone home, she lay on her bed and kept on thinking about Nini's suggestion a few hours ago.

Ashlyn had only been in her life for just 3 days when she was a kid but the girl had imprinted something to her that made her never forget the moment they shared together. And she couldn't stop herself from wanting to continue their friendship as soon as she found out they were moving to Salt Lake City.

She tried to make sense of her actions too. What would it have been if she just told the truth to the redhead and let her process it? What if she didn't act coldly towards the girl?

Maddox wanted to kick herself for it since Nini talked some senses onto her that day. She let her emotions conquer her, instead of being the bigger person.

And now that she knows that a part of Ashlyn remembers her, she can't stop herself from wishing for something more. So, she selfishly let her walls down just like Nini had advised her.

The result so far has been nerve-wracking. Ashlyn had been suspicious of multiple things she had been doing and pointing out. The favorites, mannerisms, and nicknames had been a giveaway. Whatever happens next makes her feel excited and terrified at the same time but also makes her happy, something she hasn't felt in a while.

She just laid there on her bed until her door busted open and her dog Joe Jack jumped onto her. "Joe Jack!" Maddox greeted, rubbing JJ's fur. "Miss me that much, huh," Maddox remarked as JJ barked in response.

"I'll take that as a yes. Come on, let's play outside," Maddox instructed, standing up from her bed as JJ followed her, excitedly.

Back at Ashlyn's house, Kourtney had also gone back home but Nini still stayed for a few more hours just spending some time with her girlfriend.

"Hey, what was that thing earlier?" Nini inquired as soon as they settled on Gina's bedroom. "What are you talking about?" Gina asked as she walked back and forth to her bedroom.

"When Maddox and I got back earlier. You, Ashlyn, and Kourtney started acting weird, and don't lie to me. We all know you can't improvise," Nini pointed out, expectantly. "What? It's nothing. I mean it is something but not really important," Gina tried to brush it off. "Hmmm. Yeah," Nini slowly answered, unconvinced.

Lying to her girlfriend and even to anybody wasn't Gina's strong point but she wasn't going to spill Ashlyn's life to her. "Don't ask me, please. It's not really my place to say anything," Gina pleaded, pouting.

Nini stared at her for a few seconds before letting out a sigh and eventually giving in. "Fine, now come here. I have a gift for you," Nini muttered, reaching for Gina's hand. Gina gladly took her girlfriend's hand and sat with her on the edge of the bed.

"Okay, so I know this isn't much but I wanted to give you something special... so here," Nini begins as she gives Gina a small rectangular box. Gina happily took it and opened it revealing a small bracelet with a few charms; a mic, a shoe, and a heart.

Nini glanced at Gina's curious look and explained. "You know, 'cause you're a dancer and I'm a singer. And because... you have my heart. Does that make sense?" Nini asked, shyly.
