Bakugou Katsuki was in his office, sifting through a mountain of paperwork. The night had been relatively quiet, and he welcomed the calm. His mind, however, frequently drifted to thoughts of you. Since you moved back to your old lifestyle, he couldn't shake the nagging worry that something might happen to you again.

The ringing of his phone snapped him back to reality. Glancing at the caller ID, he saw it was Mina Ashido. Frowning, he answered the call.

"What is it, Ashido?" he barked, his usual gruff tone in place.

"Bakugou, you need to listen," Mina's voice was urgent. "There was an incident tonight. Y/n was chased by a villain near her house. I got there in time to help her, but she was really scared."

Bakugou's heart skipped a beat, the news hitting him like a punch to the gut. "What? Is she okay? Where is she now?"

"She's safe," Mina reassured him quickly. "I walked her home and made sure she was okay before leaving. But Bakugou, she was terrified. I think it really shook her up."

Bakugou felt a wave of regret wash over him. He had decided to let you live on your own again after receiving information from his undercover agent that the villains had stopped looking for you. He thought it was for the best, especially as his feelings for you had grown stronger. He feared that keeping you too close might reveal how much he cared.

"Dammit," he muttered, running a hand through his hair. "I shouldn't have let her go back to living alone."

"You were just trying to do what's best for her," Mina said gently. "But maybe it's time to reconsider how to keep her safe."

"I know," he sighed, the weight of his emotions heavy on his shoulders. "I'll handle it. Thanks for calling me, Mina."

"Of course. Take care of her, Bakugou. She needs you."

As he hung up the call, Bakugou felt a burst of emotions surging through him. Anger at the villains who dared to target you again, guilt for his decision to let you live on your own, and an overwhelming desire to protect you at all costs.

He grabbed his jacket and keys, barely taking the time to lock his office door before sprinting out of the agency. His thoughts raced as he ran, each step fueled by his growing concern for you.

"Why didn't she call me?" he muttered to himself, frustration bubbling up.

As he neared your apartment, his pace quickened, his breath coming in short, sharp bursts. The image of you, scared and vulnerable, flashed through his mind, strengthening his resolve. He wouldn't let anything happen to you ever again.

Finally, he reached your door and knocked, the urgency in his actions reflecting his inner turmoil. When you opened the door, his heart ached at the sight of you. Relief and worry battled for dominance in his eyes.

After Mina left, you tried to calm yourself down, but the fear and adrenaline from the night's events lingered. You washed your face, changed into your pajamas, and tried to settle into bed. Just as you were about to close your eyes, there was a loud knock at the door.

You jumped, heart racing again. Carefully, you made your way to the door and peered through the peephole. To your surprise, you saw Bakugou Katsuki, looking slightly out of breath, his face a mix of concern and irritation.

Opening the door, you barely had time to greet him before he stepped inside, his eyes scanning you for any signs of injury.

"Mina told me what happened," he said, his voice gruff but tinged with worry. "Why the hell didn't you call me after she left?"

You blinked, taken aback by his sudden arrival and intense questioning. "Bakugou, I didn't want to bother you. You've got enough on your plate without having to worry about me."

His eyes narrowed, frustration evident in his features. "That's not for you to decide. If something happens, you call me. Got it?"

You nodded, feeling a bit guilty. "I'm sorry. I just didn't want to be a burden."

His expression softened, the anger fading to a more vulnerable look you rarely saw from him. "You're not a burden. I... I care about what happens to you."

The sincerity in his words caught you off guard. You opened your mouth to protest further, but he raised a hand to stop you.

"Look, I'm staying here tonight. No arguments," he declared, his tone leaving no room for debate.

"Bakugou, you really don't have to. I'll be fine."

"Like hell you will," he snapped, then softened again. "Just let me do this, okay? For my own peace of mind."

Seeing the genuine concern in his eyes, you finally relented. "Alright. You can stay."

He nodded, his posture relaxing slightly. "Good."

Bakugou made himself comfortable on the couch while you got him a blanket and pillow. Despite your insistence that he could take the bed, he refused, stubborn as ever.

As you lay in bed, you could hear him shifting on the couch, the room filled with an unusual sense of safety. Knowing Bakugou was there, keeping an eye on things, allowed you to finally start relaxing.

"Thank you, Bakugou," you whispered into the dark, hoping he could hear the gratitude in your voice.

"Just get some sleep," he replied quietly. "We'll talk in the morning."

With that reassurance, you finally drifted off, feeling more secure than you had in a long time. Bakugou's unexpected comfort was exactly what you needed.
