It's been a month since Chloe training had commenced & she was gradually getting better but she could not land a hit on me.
Chloe asked me, "I know you know best but why have we been focused on chi-blocking Rain?". I waved my left hand with the expression that said 'go low or duck' whilst I said, "sit, let's take five", Chloe's action after I said that was questionable, she fell to the floor really hard, she must have depleted more energy than I had thought.
"Do you recall our first encounter with the strangers in the woods?", I asked.
Chloe tussled herself on the floor & then she turned around laying on her back & said whilst she placed her arm over her head covering her eyes, "yeah, I remember that night".
"That night I discovered that chi-blocking was very effective against the strangers", I said.
"What really happened that night Rain cause when I showed up you where in front of two strangers who were about to vaporize you to nothing", Chloe said.
"Well Chloe, I left the shed for some logs of wood & while I was outside I heard movements in the woods & I knew the chances of it being a human was very low to none so I took the logs into the shed & left the shed because it felt like the strangers were closing in on our location &...", I said till Chloe interrupted & said, "so you thought you could be some female hero, you are not Lagertha you know, you are only human Rain & a woman at that, own it". What Chloe had said got me speechless, I looked at her in awe & said loudly, "YAH!", Chloe just laid there without reacting, it was scary seeing her move like that, I could tell she was in total control of herself.
"So... talk!", Chloe said.
"I attacked a stranger with chi-blocking & that froze the movements of the arm I had attacked", I said.
Chloe's interest suddenly grew as she heard that, she raised her arm of her face, jumped off the position she had laid back on & said whilst she wore her devious face, "if that stopped them then next time rather than aim for body parts aim for their back, just take a wild guess & hit the point on their back that looks like it's the middle, that would render them immobile... I think".
"That could work but you should see what happened when I went after a stranger's throat....it choked to death", I said after which I & Chloe stood up in order to continue the training.
Later that day after the training & other activities I & lady Chloe had done, we both sat in the cave & for the first time in forever we talked about it, the reality our world was facing.
"Do you ever think about it?", Chloe asked randomly.
"Think about what?", I asked.
"We lost our world Rain, to creatures that we know nothing about...", Chloe said.
"I never really saw it as my world Chloe, a few months ago I was property", I said.
"Is that what you really think Rain...?", Chloe asked after which I was about to reply but Chloe interrupted & said, "you think about it Rain, I think I'll nap for a short while", Chloe said.
What Chloe said had definitely got to me, I wondered if I got the opportunity to save the world, would I?
I could not find the answer to such question, I guess I never thought that I had some hate for the humans, how they had treated me, how they had seen me, how I became property to the same humans as myself. The more I had thought about it the more intense my thoughts had become. I sat alone calming down my misplaced mind by answering the question with my actions since the beginning of the invasion.
I slowly rode through my memories but right then it occurred to me that I would surely save the world if I could, I looked at Chloe as she quietly slept on & that was when I became fully aware that Chloe had grew on me, she had become family, the only family I had left so making the world a safe place once more would really be worth it cause then Chloe would smile & it will be a real heartfelt smile.
Firstly, I have got to say that I never expected to meet an armoured stranger out in the woods. The confrontation with the armoured stranger happened after l left the cave to fetch some water from close by stream, right then I wished I had not gotten myself out of the riddled situation Chloe had left me in cause then I wouldn't have left the cave.
The tussle between I & the armoured stranger was one sided, the armour the stranger wore made sure of that but I did what I could & always sent a counter-attack whenever the stranger attacked me.
Onset; how the battle begin.
On my short journey to the stream I sensed a presence on me, I did nothing as to not alert my enemy, if they were one. On the path to the stream there was a space filled with a series of short trees with a lot of green leaves & that was my cue. Moments after I stepped unto the path of the green leaves I slipped into the green which made me sure that the watching eye had lost track of me. I swiftly got to the top of a tree & there it was, the stranger had done the exact same thing in order to look for me. The first five seconds was as good as any other staring contest but I could not keep on staring at the stranger so I gripped unto my weapon tightly without breaking eye contact with the stranger.
Stranger danger; the armoured stranger.
The stranger & I stood on a branch of a tree awaiting to see who was going to draw their weapon first, at that time I could feel every sensation in & on my body, like the sweats slowly rolling down from my temple down to my cheeks, my heart calmly pounding one beat at a time, it was indeed an exhilarating moment.
The messenger of a standoff, it was a battle of wit & patience as your first move could be your last. Whilst we waited a small flying vessel flew right over us & that broke the armoured stranger's concentration, with this the spoils of the standoff was all mine. At the instant loss of concentration I aimed my weapon at the strangers head & the shot was clear. I took the shot knowing that was it but the armoured stranger was a tad bit fast, it blocked the shot by throwing it's weapon towards my shot after which it closed up the space between us. The stranger's combat skills was remarkable, it stopped all my attacks mid-way as did I. The accuracy in every punch or kick was never seen, I had thought the strangers were all about deadly force, it never occurred to me that they could be able to fist fight.
The battle carried on & relentlessly i could not land a single blow on it & even if I could, it wore a metallic looking armour which covered all of it's body except it's head. Whilst we fought I decided to escape this endless battle using the water fall ahead as cover. I drew a few steps backwards to the edge of the branch we were on, I stamped my palms together after which I closed my eyes, the stranger saw my stance & it could tell I was about to do something unpleasant. The stranger rushed in to stop whatever it was I was up to with knowledge of what it was, the moment it was a feet away from me I opened my eyes & a burst of energy was released from my body & I said calmly whilst the energy burst went on, "the oracle's aura".
The energy burst all around me suddenly rapidly converged towards my opened palms & sent a harsh wave of pressurized energy at the armoured stranger. The directed energy did blast the armoured stranger off the tree we had stood on & sent it to the ground but my escape was still hindered. I got down from the tree & there it was, already on it's feet, I could tell I had gotten myself stirred up in something totally different from every other experience I had acquired since the arrival of the strangers. The battle was about to journey into another round when I saw a red approaching beam shot from the strangers weapon, the shot had appeared really slow in my eyes & this was due to the special training I & Chloe had been on, 'dodging a beam shot from the strangers weapon' & I was steadily progressing. The shot came in from an unknown angle & was aimed at the armoured stranger, it blasted the armoured stranger off unto a sturdy tree & that's when Chloe came out from hiding with a weapon at hand, she ran towards me & whilst she was all worried if I was okay the armoured stranger stood up. Chloe was ready to take another shot but then I placed my left hand over her weapon, pushed it down & said, "that won't work on this stranger, we've got to pound hits into it, aim for it's head".
Chloe & I, the two woman gang, with a fighting stance as dangerous as any other we were both ready to take on the armoured stranger but that's when everything took an unexpected turn, the armoured stranger began to remove all the weapons on it's body & placed them on the ground, after which it pressed a button on it's shoulder & right there it's armour peeled off.
It was irrational, why was the stranger suddenly taking off all of it's protection but Chloe & I didn't waver & stood upon our stance.
Fact was, I thought the stranger had given up thinking we would be able to best it but then it said, "I'm not here with the same agenda as the others, now can we stop trying to kill each other & just talk".
