Well Met

"I'm gonna miss you, Ashy.." A sniffle from the crying five year old was heard from both parents as he hugged his best friend since diapers, while the teary six year old sooth him. Both mother looked at each other before sighing in that indulgent and patient tone. "I will too, Blainey. Don't worry, you will always be my best friend in the whole world."

'Blainey' giggled while wiping the tear tracks on his face. "Promise?" A pinky finger extended to the other boy, who looped it with his with a besotted smile. "Promise."

"You'll always be my soulmate, Ashy."

"You're mine too, Blainey."

"Bonjour, Aunt Pam. Mom is out with Dad. They'll be home soon. What can I do for-"

"Bas, Blaine's at the hospital."

Static was all 'Bas' could hear from his surrounding, as he dropped the telephone from shock.

"Honey?" He blinked, looking at his father and mother's worried eyes. "Blainey." Was all he could say before he collapsed -  which his father quickly took him to his lap while his mother busy herself to get clearer information from her best friend.

He could hardly breathe as he looked at his best friend, laying on the bed covered in bandages from the incident. He lowered himself right by his bedside, clutching Blaine's free hand like a lifeline and bringing it to his lips, eyes wet from the tears starting to fall. Pam looked at her husband, whose face was grim with determination as he turned around to the teen's father.

"Leonard, can you find who hurt him?" The forest green eyes flickered at his longtime friend. He smirked bitterly. "Blaine's like my kid, Jason. Just say the word. I'll do it." Jason Anderson extended his hand to Leonard Smythe's hand. Sealing the deal.

For a week, Leonard worked tirelessly to get everything done while his son stayed at his best friend's bedside day and night unless for food and shower. After that, he flew out back to France to continue his studies, while his father stayed behind to continue helping the Andersons. His mind continuously in wonder towards the hazel eyes boy he called his soul mate.
