Newt's POV:
Newt was on the roof, slowly turning the pages of a book. Not just any book. The Maze Runner.
He had all three, having raided a library at some point. While his favorite character was Minho, with his sarcasm and recklessness, he knew he was following in Newt's footsteps. Fitting, same name, same death.
He looked up, and stared at the clouds surrounding the setting sun. The uncertainty of the change was getting to him. Newt was confused as to why it was taking so long. Why was he still here?
"YO NEWTIE!! GET YOURSELF DOWN HERE AND STOP BEING THE STARING-INTO-THE-SUNSET MAIN CHARACTER!" Soph, delivering his wake up call. Lovely.
He sighed, took one last look at the horizon, and headed back inside.
