||NAINA ||
My friends had settled into their own corners, laughter and chatter echoing around us, but my mind was somewhere else.
As I stood in the dimly lit common area, a kind-faced lady approached us, her sari draping elegantly around her.
"You both have to share a room"
she said, pointing her finger towards me and him.
My heart raced at her words. I shot a glance at him, who stood beside me, his expression unreadable.
Sharing a room with him? The very thought sent a jolt of electricity through me, but it wasn't the kind of thrill I had envisioned for this trip.
I sucked my lip in sudden nervousness as Rakshita just flashed a slight smirk to me. Good knows, what mischief was taking birth in her mind now?
"Uh— I don't think that's necessary" I stammered, my cheeks flushing.
"We can just-"
I felt trapped. My plane was not going in the direction I thought it would. I thought that I would change it by doing all this but it was taking a toll on me.
"There's no need, I mean we all can share a room or—"
But rakshita cut me off, a teasing smile playing on her lips.
"why bhabhi?? Is there any issue between you and bhai?"
"-If both of you are husband and wife then there should be no problem in sharing a room here"
I shot her a glare, but the way her eyes sparkled with mischief made my heart flutter against my will.
"This isn't funny-you know it's just a revenge and i ain't going to share any room with him"
I whispered, my voice low enough to keep our conversation private.
"Relax! It's just for one night. We can handle it" he interrupted from behind, leaning closer, his breath warm against my ear
What does he mean—
From his words, a knot formed in my stomach, an unfamiliar sensation that left me momentarily disoriented.
What was happening to me? I couldn't quite grasp it, yet it didn't feel entirely unpleasant.
"What the hel-"
I didn't do nothing but these Unwanted words escaped from my mouth.
Before I could finish, he said while suppressing my voice and raising his own voice, gaining everyone's attention.
"What happened? You're my-wife! Then why not? Are you angry with me about something-NAINA"
As soon as my name came out of his mouth and reached my ears, I was completely shaken to the core. As our eyes meet, I could easily see a evil smirk behind his emotionless expression.
everyone's eyes on me so my mind went blank and couldn't understand what should i say but just replied
oh-k-kk
Trying to sound nonchalant, "just pretend" i murmured and enough for him to hear.
The lady led us to the room, and as we stepped inside, I felt a rush of anxiety mixed with an undeniable thrill. The room was small but charming, with a wooden bed draped in colorful quilts and a window that opened to the night sky.
"If you guys need anything, let us know" That lady left saying this.
"See? Cozy," he whispered, his tone light as he surveyed the space.
