Mr. Wonder sat upon the chair of the living room, darkness filling the area around him as he watched with a blank smile. His granddaughter was busy in her room, and his grandson had gone out to play. So for him, there was nothing much to do.
..that was at least.. until he heard a knock at the door.
Mr. Wonder slightly stared in the direction of the door. Had his grandson returned?
Slowly standing up from his chair with a minor groan, he turned around and began to make his way toward the dark door of their large home. And once he made his way close enough, he gripped the doorknob and twisted it so he could see who stood outside.
As he slowly opened it, there was—
"Ayyy!"
"A—Aghhhh..!"
Mr. Wonder gripped his chest. He felt something sharp in his heart as he stood, struggling to catch his balance as his other hand struggled to grip the door-frame. His legs trembled, and his head felt fuzzy as two unfamiliar white and orange figures stood before him.
"It-sa spooky month!" He heard them say.
He winced, yet through his pain, he smiled. "It-sa spooky month?!"
Throwing his hands from side to side, he began to dance as his bones cracked. Not noticing the red and white figure watching while holding a balloon from the distance.

Skid and Pump raced along the sidewalk. Now that Pumps grandpa knew that it was the spooky month, they could spread the news to the other residents in the town! Though they were both a little unsure of who they were supposed to go to.
"Who should we tell now?" Skid asked with a grin.
Pump hummed in thought. "Hmm.. I think we should—"
"Hey, losers!"
..they both stopped, and felt a pang of a negative feeling slowly wash over their hearts. Their eyes widening in minor terror ad they saw three familiar figures grinning down mischeviously at them, they frowned.
"..hi, Roy." Skid and Pump sadly said in unison, glancing away nervously. Roy, the brown haired boy with a mischevious smile stood before them with his arms crossed. Ross, a boy with black hair stood beside him. And Robert, a boy with poofy blonde hair and a goofy smile stood on the other side. Both Ross and Robert towered over Roy as they grinned down at the two children.
They then felt something damp hit their eyes. Furiously and in slight pain from whatever entered their eyes, they wiped atmtheir sockets. Though they then felt a sharp pain enter their feet as Robert and Ross stepped harshly upon them—and they winced as they gripped their feet. And then, Roy delivered a swift whack to their heads, causing them to feel dizzy as they groaned.
This was the usual routine with these three, and the only thing they could do was pray to god that they'd leave soon.
After Roy lifted his hand, he mischeviously giggled. "Hehehe.. what are you two doing here?"
Skid rubbed his head in slight pain as Pump smiled back. "Because it is the spooky month!"
Roy laughed. From behind him, his friends smiled at eachother, moving their hands slowly from side to side while he wasn't looking.
"Oh, really?" Roy chuckled. "You know, there's a spooky party in the house on the hill.." He grinned, gesturing toward the looming house over the hill in the distance. "Maybe you should check it out."
Skid and Pump gasped, and then grinned at eachother, practically leaping in the air. "A spooky party on spooky month!"
Without warning, and with excitement pumping in their veins, the two small children dashed eagerly foward onto the sidewalk, and toward the house on the hill in the distance.
Roy grinned to himself, watching the two with a giggle. "..they're really stupid, aren't they?"
"Uh.. yeah.. heh." Ross replied slowly, his voice softening.
Silence fell.
"You know.. thats actually where my uncle takes me. We play all kinds of games there together." Roy uttered with a smile.
The silence remained still. His friends looked at him with slightly widened eyes, their mouths slowly starting to hang open.
Robert spoke up, stammering, "..wh—what?"
————
"It is the spooky moooo.."
As they busted the doors open with a whack, their eyes quickly scanned around the area. It was empty. Vast. No one appeared to be inside. And no sound was in the air. The area had a red carpet leading to a large staircase, and the walls were a dark brown as dust hung in the air.
The two glanced around, puzzled. Slowly, they stepped inside. And walked with an arch of their brows.
"..where's everyone..?" Skid asked aloud.
The two then flinched. They heard a click from behind them, and the little light that was in the room faded.
Slowly, they turned around. And.. there was a man with glasses standing in front of the door, a grin curled up on his lips as he laughed in a raspy manner. They couldn't see his eyes from his glasses. He was bald, and looked to be wearing some kind of suit. But.. something about him right then made the two children then begin to tremble.
"Heheh.. hello, kids." The stranger laughed.
Skid paused. "..um.. hi, mister."
The stranger cocked his head as he began to slowly walk closer. "..you know.. I believe you just got tricked. But that's fine. All we're going to do is play a little game.. and then, I can get my treats."
He slowly began to reach his hands out, and the two whimpered, shuddering in slight fear as they backed up.
"..oh no. It's a.. stranger." Pump whimpered with a frightened frown.
"This.. this is not spooky. It-sa scary!" Skid cried.
As they backed up closer and closer to the staircase, they shuddered, not ready to face whatever game he had in mind as his hands practically wriggled at them. But.. then, the two heard something from behind them let out a quick crashing sound.
The strangers smile curled downward into a frown, and a bead of sweat appeared on his face. "..uh oh.."
Before the two children could react, they felt something large wrap around their bodies, and drag them into a hole they hadn't realized had opened behind them.

The area they were dragged into felt cold as they remained silent. Or humid. Neither were entirely sure. But as they looked ahead, a bright cyan light shimmered into their retinas. Speckles of light flickered at them from above, and from below as they were slowly lowered.
As they slowly became lower and lower to the ground of the area, they came to a stop as the tentacle still held onto them. And before them was.. a large dark pile of mush, with tentacles sprouting out. Cyan eyes stared back at them. Pump felt himself freeze, while Skid only stared ahead.
Whatever it was beared sharp teeth, and growled.
"WHO ARE YOU MORTAL PILES OF FLESH?"
Skid smiled. Wow—whatever this thing was had a really cool voice!
"I'm Skid! And this is my friend, Pump!" Skid gestured to Pump, who's mouth hung open, and who's eyes looked almost cyan. Maybe it was just the light of the area.
Skid then tilted his head. "Who are you?"
The thing snarled. "I AM THE EYES OF THE UNIVERSE." The area seemed to get brighter as it continued speaking. "AND I WILL SHOW YOU THE END.."
Pump blinked. "..you mean spooky month?"
The thing went silent.
"..IT-SA SPOOKY MONTH?"
