Kevin had arrived with the kids to his house fairly quickly once his shift came to an end, and as he walked in, he gave a tired sigh.

He took off his cap with a sigh, and placed it on a nearby desk. He looked down at the two kids, and spoke tiredly, "Okay.. you two wait here. Or—just go play if you want. I have to go do something with all this.." He blinked as his gaze flickered over to the bag he still had hanging over his shoulder, "..candy."

"Okay!" The child in the skeleton costume nodded.

Kevin spun around, and began to make his way to the nearby corridor. He didn't know if the kid or his friend would suspect anything, but.. this was for their own good.

As he walked away, he heard them begin to speak.

"Can we have some, Kevin?" The kid asked.

"Uh.." He thought as he continued to walk, "Yeah. Sure."

He had a bag of candy somewhere in the house that he had brought over from a few of his shifts. He hadn't really snuck over candy to his own house before considering that would get him fired, but ever since he adopted the kid, he found himself doing that more and more often.

"Yay!" The kid cheered. "Maybe when we find Happy Fella, we can share candy with him!"

The kids friend beamed, "Yeah! Mm.. oh! Maybe after this we can try to find him again!"

"Yeah! And then we'll be together with him forever!" The kid replied cheerfully.

Kevin felt his chest harden, and he swallowed. As his lips curled into a frown though, he began to feel something shifting against his back. Something that was soft at first, but then grew firm. He only stopped in his tracks when he finally made his way to an entrance that led into the kitchen.

He then felt his body stiffen. He felt himself realized what it was as he began to hear the sound of something shuffling, and then heard the sound of paper being torn apart. In an instant from the bag—something fell to the tiled floor with a thud, and the two kids flinched—looking in its direction.

Kevin began to breathe heavily. It.. it had been the doll. But why was—how did it—

The doll spoke in an angry, gruff voice as it stood. "I'm tired.. I'm tired of this! I'm tired of you two—your spooky month, and that dumb dance!" He screamed. He then danced from side to side as if to mock it, and resumed his standing position as he sharply screamed, "I've been trying to fulfill my damn needs—and you always stop me! I can't handle it anymore!"

"Wha.. how did you.." Kevin shakily uttered.

"And you—" It sharply turned to him with a growl, "You should have bought the damn cat when your son told you to! And you shouldn't have—"

The kid interrupted with a raise of his voice, stepping foward with a frown forming behind his mask. "Ay! Don't talk to Kevin like that!" He practically screamed, "I don't know how you got in there, but you shouldn't be mean at him!"

"I'll be mean all I damn want!" The doll screamed.

The kid frowned deeper. "Mmh—you always being mean to us! And you never let us play your games!"

"Yeah! And you get us in trouble with my sister!" The kids friend added with a huff, "I bet you weren't even trying to find the bathroom! You just wanted to run away!"

The doll hissed, "..how about you tell me that to my face?"

Something glimmering in its hand. Something small and sharp. And..

..wait, was.. that the pocket-knife he had in the back of his car? He only ever kept it if he needed to open a box of some kind, or needed it for some other purpose. But how did it even get that? The bag hadn't even been open.
